I've got a plan of action prepared for an Organic Dry Amendment only run for use with them... Bottled chem nutes and I.....well, we're not friends you see.

Oh ya the factory one was actually all corroded so i replaced it the other day when trying to diagnose what was going on! Pretty sure its the auto zone alternator being a bitch cuz every once in a while after driving a long distance it comes up saying check charge system and alternator and battery are both new and all the connections are solid so assume its under or over charging thats happening! Last time it happened to me in case it was undercharging i turned ac off and drove right up the street to auto zone but everything tested fine for them but the car had been shut off between the warning and test cuz they hook computer up while car is turned off so could also be why it no longer showed warning by that time!
Did you replace both battery cables and all of the grounding straps to the body and motor? That battery corrosion can happen inside the cable where you cannot see it.
I think you have a faulty alternator with some flakey diodes.
Lived up "north" for 20 plus years, but plenty of friends where you are. Have spent quite a bit of time surfing around SD. Used to be able to get $35 red eye flights from SF. If swells rolled through would fly down and be at the beach at sunrise.
I call it ghetto to chateau when I'm there. Start in Imperial, then to PB, and end up in La Jolla in a posh cliff house
