I was given a black wing lorry around 85 and a lot of research showed me they were nectar drinkers.......It had been surviving on bird seed. Lined his cage with plactic, towel at the bottom. He improved greatly in 4 months after he started getting nectar and fruit. further research and I found out males will bond with female owners and females bond with male owners. 1st wife would have nothing to do do with cleanup or feeding so I gave him to a female friend who was very happy with him.
