It's actually really good. It's just that most of the stuff that I cook in it generally makes the house smell good all day when I make it in a dutch oven. So it does work great but the house will only smell good after it's doneHeard it was great for that. Had some canned bean and ham soup for dinner that was pretty lackluster at best. Usually do stuff in a crockpot, but seems the instapot would be faster at a lot of things. Think it's time...was just wondering what peeps used it for the most.
Cold rainy days I like doin black eyed peas with smoked neck bone and a big side of corn bread. Season is coming up
I made a big batch of cornbread yesterday, by my Wichita Falls grandma's recipe. I use plain yogurt instead of buttermilk (cheaper and richer). And a pot of frijoles moros (Cuban black beans). I never tried a crockpot, still cooking with natural gas.Heard it was great for that. Had some canned bean and ham soup for dinner that was pretty lackluster at best. Plus you can just dump some frozen chicken pieces, frozen veggies, stock…..and come back to a meal in thirty or so minutes….. a little corn starch at the end to tighten up the gravy….Pot roast is pretty good in a pressure cooker….
