Soil looks super duper wet there! I’m not sure if that’ll kill them but u have any idea where they came from?? U adding funky worm castings or some kind of organic matter that’s decomposing in there?? I’d get u some nematodes cuz they’ll burrow into and kill any soft bodied pests that invade your pots! @Mañ'O'Green may know better how to get rid of those! He doesn’t grow in soil but is loaded with knowledge so should have a trick or 2 up his sleeve!

That isnt my soil, I couldn't get a pic of mine good enough. But they look exactly like that. I haven't gone digging around since I top dressed a while back so I'm not sure how many or how big they are now. They look too much like tapeworms to me and it honestly creeps me out haha. Last time I saw them they were about 1-1.5" long and lots of them. I don't have many gnats and I'm the fool killing my plants so I know they aren't eating my roots.

After some research apparently they break down organic material and are a part of the earthworm family.

I do think that going back and being able to watch the time lapses, especially over longer periods, is going to be really helpful later on down the line.

That one was actually unintentional

Even I don't Believe that one...........

I use castile soap as my wetting agent every watering and I use the dr bronners peppermint stuff at that and it has pest killing properties as well! Especially fungus gnats it’s kills larvae on contact so didn’t have any show up this run! Got some other creatures crawling in my soil but runs almost done so gonna water in some spinosad next feed so it’ll actually kill off whatever invaders I have! Then I’ll add beneficial bugs before next run!

But no straw doesn’t help against fungus gnats! It helps keep soil moist up top so if u have them it’ll actually make them worse most likely!

One of those Facts that stick in your mind........Forever.......

When aphids come under attck they give off the smell of Peppermint....to Warn all the rest of them to keep away.......that is why peppermint acts as an aphid repellent...

So...aphid squeaky farts smell of peppermint........you Remember the Funny ones Best.....
