I used to be afraid of clowns. Now, I have something new to haunt my nightmares...
Edit: oh god...then I scrolled down to pennywise vs. joker!
Ah well at least you have a scroll wheel!
Clowns are what society looked down on and the real thing about it is people were scared of becoming like them!
Clowns parody marginalized members of society, for the delight and entertainment of the people who have it a lot better!
Red Nose and Crosses for eyes = Drunks.
Clown shoes = Disabled people
Idiocy = Mental Illness and Downs syndrome
The people who we should be afraid of dress in normal clothes and to all intents and purposes act normal, but it is those same people who are the real damaged people because they laugh at those less fortunate than themselves and do nothing to help!
Freak shows on the other hand was a way of people with disabilities to earn a living, when there was no social care or support.
Of course there were those who were taken advantage of but so were able bodied poor people in such professions as prostitution.
There was a famous freak show in America (I forget the name) but when it was forced to shut because of a change in attitudes towards disabled people. The people of the freak show lost their jobs and their living and were on the whole, very pissed off about it!
Remember most clowns are men, if they scare you deliberately, kick em in the nuts and run away!
With those big shoes they aint catching you anytime soon!
