I can see why First Nations would be leery of government healthcare in general.
My immune system is probably not so great after 4 courses of chemo, but I survived COVID in January without going to the hospital. I got my Pfizer shots in May, my flu shot in September, and I'll get the booster as soon as I'm eligible in November (no biggie). I can't afford to be sick, or make anybody else sick. I'm caretaker for my 99 year-old dad, who has his own apartment a few blocks away. I'm not gonna stop taking refugee kids to & from school, doctor appointments, and activities just 'cause it might be the death of me. When they are sick I stay away from my dad for a couple of weeks, even tho' we're both vaxed.
Live, laugh, love much, and grow some righteous maracachafa.
