There's been quite a bit of research on plants' awareness of their environment and memory, cited in the books "secret life of plants," and "hidden life of trees." University professors don't dare call it memory because they'd lose their tenure, but there are a lot of examples of plant senses and memory.
Checks out! I understand it more like muscle memory. Like, “ ooh, it always feels good the next day when i stretch like this!” So they stretch like that! Just an example, not literally.
