I pay $30 for the good stuff my local store makes in house but its same $30 its always been! They make a knockoff 3.0 from build a soil too and its only like $20!

I haven't seen anything like that here I do know the "grow stores" are even more expensive. I get mine from the local garden nursery countrymax I have not seen anything build a soil here or close to it and having it shipped is stupid money.

Do you reammend your soil at all? Craft Blend, Big 6, basalt, EWC?

Once you get past the initial investment of the soil for a 4x4 bed. It's about as cheap as it gets. Around $50 to 75 a run if that.

You don't ever have to empty the bed out? I guess not as I say that and think about it

It costs probably $50 just to reammend 30 gallons of soil from last year for this year for me. And that's just castings and aeration plus some leftover dry amendments

I will after this run. It's the 4th round. I started with too much soil in it. Probably would have gotten to 8-10 rounds if I f I didn't't have too much in there. Made the wrong assumption that it would settle more and the worms would reduce it more. I don't add that much back in. 3/4 bag of Build A Flower and a 1/4 bag of worm castings that I probably don't need with all the worms in there

I use other things but in such small amounts it lasts a long time. Once again with a larger initial investment for additives, but not close to running out of anything since 4 rounds... I use their Craft Blend, Big 6, Microbe Complete, Basalt( every other round). Also use a surfactant, Diamond K gypsum, BlueGold soft rock phosphate. Some other stuff for shits and giggles

Gone are the days when I could bring a few buckets from grandmas compost heap and mix it with dirt from the back yard.

My grow store sells many traditional and modern amendments, many in bulk so I know there are people blending their own.
