High!

Always having calmag def....usually at 40 days but now I get on some, as early as 18 days :(
Using soil, and lime amended, some calmag as well but still....

Peace!

Calcium and magnesium are only taken on by the plant above PH 6.5 in soil so I have my soil at 6.8 and my feed is 6.6 I also started feeding 2ml per 1L through flower. I use Plant Magic Magna-Cal,I did use ANs SensiCal but it seems they have stopped producing it.
It's a pretty amazing feeling knowing you inspired someone to start growing.

CalMag is a must for LED growers and as far as I know there are no LED specific nutrients but its only a matter of time as LEDs popularity grows.
What changes would you make to the soil in organic grow,i have oyster shells and dolomite lime in the mix,2 cups dolomite lime and 1 bag crushed oyster shells,This is for a 40 gal batch.I run 2 advanced DS 200s actual watts is 185,1 G8 actual watts is 140,and 2 BML 36in. actual watts is 75 i think.Peace

Hei @TaNg , one thing i dont understand. How do you get the AN feed to be 6.6 pH? Since the "ph perfect" line is designed to stay in frames of 5.8-6.0? I measure pH and EC all the time (just to have more data to analyze) and i NEVER have it above 6.0 nor with drinking water, tap or RO have gotten the ph to stay above 6.0. They(AN) have run a testvideo too, where different water source, all of them end up on 5.8-5.9 pH. Shine some light on your magic :D

PS! AN Cal-Mg is still on the market, they pulled it off for a second and then customers demanded it back and they brought the product back. I just bought it too :)

Waiting on Master Grower Tang to answer the above question...PLEASE help us noobs with this damn issue...would adding dolomite lime in the soil help? So Tang you would say about 8ml per gallon? And then run ph up to 6.6? I want my plants to look like yours. (Guess we all do). Thanks

Tang uses promix and im 100% sure he does not use lime he can correct me if im wrong.. If your using promix i see no need for lime if your using soil real dirt soil id use some lime.. I use lime works great but I also grow in FF oF

Tang uses Plagron light soil which has buffers (lime) ,also Grow Northern HS1 lights which use a spectrum and diffuser which lessen the need for cal mag supplements.

I have a couple California Lightworks Solar Storm 880 LED lights with Supplemental UVB Bulbs.
For Nutrients I'm Using the full Organic Aptus Plant Tech additive line which does contain MassBoost as its cal mag additive. Base nutrients are Earth Juice Sweet And Heavy. I bubble my water and ad EM1 Beneficial Microbes and Azomite and the nutrients and additives. So far i haven't seen cal mag deficiency in any of my large plants. The Aptus line is very concentrated but the buy in to the full line is a little on the high end (Ambassador pack is about 150$) but full organic nutrients are the only way to go for serious medication. APTUS focuses on helping the plant in uptaking nutrients naturally and focuses on plant microbiology. Here is an example of how the plants fill in from seed

Well I am using a marsII 700W I have been adding extra cal mag from the beginning with maxi-bloom as my main nute. No problems till now just shy 9 weeks in with about two weeks-ish left to go. I think I just let the plants get to close to the lights. about 12'' at the closest. my box is only 2.5'x2.5' so the light still covered at that height. backed it off to about 14-16'' and am running a hotish mix @ 2.0 EC in an ebb-n-flow bucket system. I think the light just causes the plant to need extra cal mag when it is to intense. they are immobile elements and take time for the plant to move around. Most likely adding extra cal mag wont fix the problem as there is (in my case) plenty already there. I'm going to concentrate on finding the sweet spot for these lights as I dial them in. anyway seems to be mostly cosmetic as the grow it's self has been very nice considering new lights and a new strain.
Anyhow I would say the cal-mag thing is real, and likely caused by the intensity of one of the spectrum's. hardly a new idea but there ya go. One more opinion in that direction. :)
