The way it was explained to me is that LEDs are more efficient at utilizing nutrients so will exhaust the amount of cal/mag in most nutrients. Kind of made some sense when you consider that most nutrients have been developed for use under HPS lighting. When bleaching occurs with LEDs from the lights being too close, the fix is to give a foliar feed of cal/mag. It's an effective fix, so that would seem to give some credence to that theory.

Question. When flowers bleach do you still foliar feed. or is there another method of dealing with this? I ask as I no longer have any room left to raise my light lol

With the light situation you could have the lights come in from the side or front,if you have something to secure the hangers.I have mine set up like that. I don,t foliar feed, someone will come along who does.I saw taNg with his LEDs he goes from all different angles.Good luck dude.Peace.

Still no solid fix for Ca def using leds? AN support told me that we think it's the leds fault when actually we are feeding wrong. They say the problem is the way we water. We need to water with runoff cause the soil will get salts buildup. In case you can't flush from time to time give em just unPH'ed water. When using pH perfect no need to pH the water... 2 weeks ago they told me AN don't usually leave salts...
Here is the last mail.

What I suggested in the last post was that by the fact that as a rule you do not feed them to run off, it may cause the medium to have different conditions at different places in the container. A flush to the beginning of run off will create even growing conditions in the medium for the plants to grow in. When using the pH perfect formulas, there is no need to adjust the pH when giving them just water

Edit. I am taking their advice though I'm sceptic about this ..
