I just finished a 100+ day grow with some photos... two different strains, still water only... not a single issue. This makes three grows at least without an issue using "water only" TLO.

With TLO, the nutrients are already in the mix in abundance before the grow starts... so there is no difference in the feeding program, based on the stage of the plant.

My point is that maybe starting your cal/mag supplementation earlier than normal may help some... just a thought. :peace:

I grow in soil also. I use an organic potting soil and I amend it with fresh worm castings and Grow More organic soil builder. the soil builder has many of the same things used in TLO. I just chopped 4 plants flowered under a VERY red LED grow light. No cal/mag issues. I've grown probably close to 100 other canna plants under various LED lights and have only just now had a cal/mag issue, and that was my fault! I have to use RO water and I forgot to add cal/mag to it for quite some time I guess. Yet even then, only my biggest plant in SCROG had the issue! In fact, I've not seen many LED / Soil grows that have had cal/mag issues. Maybe its something to do with using synthetic nutes as it seems a lot of hydro/coco grows have this problem.

I add my cal/mag by measuring the ppms. I'm running at 125 ppms in my RO water...............when I remember to add tt lol!

Hey guys, dont know if this was a fluke or what but my last 3 grows in a dwc with led's, i used gh cal mag and for all 3 grows i fought cal mag def the entire grow.
So for shits and giggles i bought botanicare cal mag and my plants took off within days.
I wont use gh cal mag again, in fact i dumped out what i had.
Do they get old and expire or what ?
The difference was night and day for me anyway, almost instantly.
And yet i use they're gh 2 part nutes and they work fine.

like anything else, you may have just had a bad batch. Good thinking just the same to try another brand. It probably wouldn't have occurred to me it might be the cal/mag i was already using!

Cheers Pops - We are recently in touch with Ecosunlite - but you are right.

I'll edit out the post and send them a message. Many thanks guys!

Wow, interesting. GH CaMg+ is what I have been using. Is that the product?

Thanks Pop the spam post is in moderation now.

Not sure if it was plus or not.
Sorry

Yes, General Organics CaMg+ can go bad...had it happen to me as well. BUT as a CaMg
additive, it's actually (IMHO) very good (when it's good) to use because it's so light.
It has an NPK ratio of 0-0-0 unlike many others, so it doesn't add a component to the
NPK values that you're seeking to provide in the feed (base nutrient schedule and either
Veg or Bloom, etc.) I call it a "blank canvas" CaMg...transparent to the rest of the recipe.

My 2 cents.

It may be the case that you experienced improvement because the CaMg you switched
to started providing something that your base feed schedule was under-providing.

(Maybe Fe)

Dont know trapper, it was gh not go.
i do recall the botanicare had double of the one npk then the gh did. ( i think )
Just an old fart here and still pretty new but loving the difference after 3 grows of a constant fight with def. thru the entire grow.
And started a new grow 2 weeks ago and the plants are taking off. woo hoo we will see shortly, personally i think its my well water. its very soft water and the ph bounces around between 5.5 and 6.2 and no i dont drink it, even though nothing was found wrong bad wise.
Anyway thanks for the info
