Indoor Killernecrox's Third Grow - Samsara Supersonic Crystal Storm & Fast Bud #2

Many people think that distilled water is good for pH electrodes. This is wrong. Distilled water actually kills pH electrodes by sucking its electrolyte out of the reference chamber. Distilled water is excellent for rinsing between samples, but harmful for storage purposes."My 2 cents"

For this grow (thirdgrow) i didn't hand pack, i just packed it down by holding the sides of the air pot and tapping it on the ground instead of using my hand to push it down. I did that on my second grow so it was really really compact like cement. Anyway on my new grow i am using my new soil and i packed it down by holding the sides of the air pot and tapping it on the ground too. But i notice many growers pre flush the soil first before growing. So how do i start with the the method without pre flush ? I am new to it, please guide me :help:

Anyway yeap i usually let my seeds soak in my glass of water for 12-24 hours before planting them.

So basically after 12-24 hours, i water the area where i will be planting my seeds and then i place my seeds inside and cover it up and spray the top of the soil daily ? And when it sprouts do i continue giving small volume of water but frequent ?

I am not using distilled water for storage. I am basically planning on using Evian's water which is at ph 7.2(shown on their website and the back of the bottle) to calibrate my ph meter as i do not have any more buffer solution and i can't find it anywhere locally and sadly i'm too broke to buy it online because the shipping is like 10x the cost of it.

I wouldn't pack the soil manually at all. It will settle naturally and pack as you water it. Once it sprouts, let it go 3 or 4 days before giving a very small amount of water (40-50 ml).

I like to presoak my soil before planting so that the bottom of pot should still be moist and the tap root should seek it out for those 3 or 4 days I let it go w/o watering after sprout.

"My 2 cents"

Alright so i guess i'm gonna presoak the soil because i guess i'm comfortable with it. Crap but i have already packed the soil down but will it screw up my grow like for example the root won't be able to move freely. OHNO! Please tell me that i'm not gonna get another failure grow again :(

Anyway how much do you presoak your soil ? 3 times the medium amount ? So i'm just gonna presoak it with 6.5 ph balanced water ? And after 3-4 days should i do the wet/dry cycle and water till run off or just give it a small amount of water like you mentioned ?

No don't flush it. Just enough to get a little runoff. Do it slowly to avoid creating channels

You got the jiffy Its all good but I would have chosen the bio 5, do you have your hands on rain water?
Also I would have tried to reanimate your plants but that's me!
Get yourself some paper-ph strip (better than nothing and cheap)
Don,t push the soil to hard into the pots and give water using a spray-bottle!
Just start with rootstimulator and phd water!!

SOME TIPS!

1 don't cut leaves !
2 Try to get your light as close as possible without hurting the plants (more photosynthetic Active Radiation (PAR)=more photosynthesis =more bud!)
3 leds and cfl have less penetration potential so scrog or lst will have benefits over long stalky plants! try to get an even canopy!
4 Be clean in your grow-room ( don't want bug mold and other shit)
5 check your equipment, calibrate your PH meter every 2 weeks minimum
6 Keep notes of what you have given for nutes and try to be consequent!
7 Don't get to funky on supplements! the basic feed is the most important!
8 Get your numbers right and constant ph humidity and temp!
9 Be kind to your plants and talk to them

Killer, I think I forgot you were using air pots, right? You are supposed to pack the soil in those pots. But that's only to fill in the holes with dirt. After you packed it, take a spoon or a fork and loosen up the center of the soil. Nice and deep too. This will help your plant to grow in tight soil... Well, it wont be tight anymore:thumbs:

Hope I'm not to late partner...
