Iriee Vibez Grows With Loving Soil

I am all done harvesting the outdoor plants. Here is a quick recap:

First, I want to say that I now recognize that I did not have the number of direct sunlight hours that I would like. The plants got about three hours direct sunlight and another four filtered sunlight during most of flower. A huge Chinese Elm I have in the back grew out and shaded most of my yard. When I realized, the plants were too big to call in the tree guy. I will have this taken care of before next season for sure.

RQS Honey Cream finished first and produced 6 ounces of very dense indica bud. Much needed for my medicine cabinet. Strong tasty end of the night smoke. Tastes sweet and makes my smile as I drift off at night.

HSO Green Crack I got 4 ounces from this plant. Nice dense fruity tasting weed. The uncured smoke is encouraging.... nice clear and uplifting. I did have a few little caterpillars, but didn't see those big fat ones that have eaten the plant. Very little plant damage.

HSO Blue Dream gave me 3 ounces of some very airy buds. I haven't tried her yet. This sativa seemed to have been most affected by the lack of direct light.

Strawberry Banana probably had the densest and most pungent buds. They are still drying, so not much more to report yet.

Barney's Wedding Cake Auto - Day 25
Dinafem Auto Cookeis - Day 14
Barney's Gorilla Glue Auto - Day 3

I have been busy harvesting, drying, and jarring the outdoor plants. I have also been doing a fair amount of smoking. I am particularly impressed with the Blue Dream, as it smells great, tastes better, and the effects are awesome. A nice uplifting feel good high. The green crack is definitely a daytime smoke, very much a strong sativa. I haven't tried the Strawberry Banana yet, since I juts put in jars today. All in all, great quality, but disappointed in the quantity for these Earthbox grows. I lost quite a bit to bud rot, and I have to fix the direct light issue for next year's outdoor season.

I am back focusing on the indoor plants solely. The two barney strains are in 3 gallon pots and the Cookies is in a 1 gallon. I was going to leave her in the solo cup, but decided to try this instead, so I potted her up a couple days ago.

Wedding Cake
This plant is looking good. This was a straight no till planting directly in the pot that I harvested the Zkittlez from. She already is flowering at Day 25, so I am hoping for a long flowering stretch. Normally the biggest growth for me is during the first week of flower, and then it slows considerably in the second week. I have been training the stems over the last week, so there are a lot of bud sites. I just need the stretch to cooperate with her.

Gorilla Glue

I did a no till planting with her directly in the pot I harvested the Zkittlez plant from. I did re-amend the soil in this pot, as it already did two rounds of no till. I added some compost and a blend of dry amendments and mixed everything up real good. GG is my favorite strain, and I read the Barney's used an original clone in their breeding system. This will be my sixth different GG strain that I have grown. I am hoping it is the best.

Auto Cookies

I was about to do another solo cup experiment, but decided to try out a 1 gallon pot this time. I was disappointed with how she turned out when I tried the solo cup, and I want to give her a chance to grow and see how I like the strain.

I am brewing up a compost tea right now. I used compost, EWC, bat guano, fish hydrolysate, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, and other stuff. This should give the Wedding Cake what she needs to complete flower. I will probably have to give the other pots another dose in about 30 days.

I swear these plants are keeping me sane during these crazy crazy times.

Happy growing brothers!:pass:

Thanks, Fitz. yeah, I am topdressing this weekend, and giving the pots a nice feeding of compost tea with all that and more mixed in.

Hey Tom! Thanks brother! Always nice when old friends drop by. as you can see I have shifted from solo cup to a 1 gallon. I don’t think I have the time, technique, or patience to grow using organic soil in solo cups. It just doesn’t seem to work well. Hopefully, the 1 gallon still offers the benefits of smaller containers, but is more compatible with my living soil style. @hecno did a damn good job with the little container, though. I would say the best I have seen.

Hey QB! I love growing organically with an EarthBox. It has been the simplest, most trouble free and rewarding style I have tried thus far. I don’t know too much about the auto pot, but doubt one can handle 2 cubic feet of soil like the EarthBox can. All that medium at perfect moisture level makes for happy soil and plants. Also protects against a lot that can go wrong in smaller pots where one has to monitor ph and ppms and stuff like that. I can’t tell you when the last time was I used a meter of any kind.

Makes life easier - eliminates over / under watering and the mulch cover helps eliminate pests .... my daughter who struggled for years ago at growing container tomatoes has had super good luck with Earthbox tomatoes, two years in a row now .... earthbox turns your thumb green?

Outdoor Photo Update

HSO Green Crack - Week 12
HSO Blue Dream - Week 12
RQS Honey Cream - Week 12
RP Strawberry Banana - Week 9

I thought I would do an update with pics of each of the four outdoor plants. To remind everyone, I have four plants in two earthboxes. I have a sativa box with the two HSO strains, and an indica box with the Honey Cream, and the late start Strawberry banana.

Sativa EarthBox

Green Crack on Left, and Blue Dream on right. @HSO-Mark this is an all HSO sativa box.

HSO Green Crack

She is about four feet from the top of the box, and about two feet wide. She has some nice tall colas that are starting to fill in. A nice mango funk aroma when I brush against her buds.

HSO Blue Dream

Blue Dream is a s frosty as can be at this early flower stage. She has. Nice berry skunk aroma, and is about 3.5 feet tall and 2 feet wide. Similar structure to the Green crack.

Indica Earthbox

She is the biggest and quickest. She is over three feet tall and almost four feet wide. Her Buds are long and thick already, and they still have weeks to go. This girls yield will be insane. She is really frosty and have a sweet caramel with a little skunk back.

RP Strawberry Banana

After failing to germ three seeds, I was about to give up on this one. The last seed termed and I put her in the EarthBox. The other three plants had a three week head start, so I wasn’t expecting much of a yield. Well that has changed. Though I didn’t have time to train her to increase tops like the others, I did top her. She really has done a good jobin catching up. Almost three feet tall now, with three main colas. I am thinking she will yield decently if she stacks. She will definitely be the last plant standing.

AutoBlue was harvested. It was a add on grow in a 3 gallon pot outdoors, and it yielded like that. I got about a half ounce only. The buds are curing, but I am not super enthused after the sample I took. The flavors and effect was not as I am used to with my Dutch Passion Blueberries.

My mouth is watering while I wait for these girls. It will be a smorgasbord of flavors, terps, and effects. As long as I can keep the caterpillars at bay!

:pass:

Looking super duper bro, nice job .... My buddy did similar thing and thought 3 gallon cloth pot would do as he said “almost as food” in smaller pot - that was in June (photos) ..... now he realizes the 3 gal didn’t even do 1/2 as good .... Similar experience myself when I figured extra space so let’s stick in this 3 gallon - waste of time .....

One suggestion and you have probably figured this out already but you wanna mound sil up over top of EB so as to provide even more soil but also help shed rain water off mulch cover ....

enjoy the fruits of your labor, super fine specimens- solid job.
