New Grower Hog's First Grow

Light: FCE4800 13" @ 100%

Things are chugging right along. Bit of a humidity spike with lights off, will reintroduce another dehumidifier for nighttime. Last watering, I added 30% strength of FOOP Bloom 1&2 + Sweetener. Saw a little bit of clawing again so I'm gonna stop using at least the Bloom 2, which is 1-2-0. Bloom 1 is 0-0-0 fish excrement, kelp, and volcanic silica so I tried adding just that to the rainwater at 30% recommended strength to see how they react. Starting to think I may wind up with a pretty crammed tent! Worse problems to have i suppose. Thanks for following along!

Strawberry Nuggets x Pink Panama

Had a little LST accident with Strawberry nuggets x Pink Panama. Snapped a stem, but not even a 1/4 way through. I tied the branch to. A stake and to the main stem itself. I think it will be fine. This plant is getting a little wild and I was trying to rein it in a bit, went too far. Oh well, should recover and its a lesson learned.

Hey yall, Hog here in great green Illinois. Im new to the community and to mostly new to growing. I recently moved back home from Colorado to recover from some serious medical issues and be closer to family. Im a longtime recreational user, but given my condition, it is now very literally a medicine for me. The insane prices and corporate nature of weed industry here, along with a genuine fascination with how this plant works have made me decide to grow my own.

I've got a 4x4 Mars Hydro Tent with an FCe4800 on the way. Decided on an organic grow in a living soil using OF and Natures Living Soil. Planning on running 4 or 5 plants (5 Plants is the state limit) in 5 or 7 gallon pots. As far as genetics, I haven't orderd my seeds yet, so I'm open to suggestions. I'd like 2 or 3 indica,1 solid hybrid, and 1 solid sativa. My plan at the moment would be to get CDLC, Samsquanch OG, and either double grape or forum stomper from Meph, Star Spangled Banner and Galaxy Brain from Night Owl.

I'll be posting updates and I'm sure asking a bunch of questions. Super excited to get started on this and be a part of this badass Cannabis subculture. Happy growing folks!

Im sure its hard to get the seeds anywherw but I regular cross the border to IL to pick up cresco's lemon bean flower. Gotta be one of my favorite sativas out there. I know it doesnt help but its so freaking tasty and the high is to die for, Ill look around as well. But I havent found the seeds yet. Plus im thinking a sativa might get a little too tall for me at least this one in particular.

You did the smart thing by only putting 4 plants in the 4x4 when i got my 4x4 i went wild and put 8 in there, big mistake.

Keep doing what you are doing, no advice to give here :smoking:.

Check the hydro stores! I live farther south in IL and the grow shops in my town carry some solid genetics (Humboldt Seed Co, Twenty20 Mendocino, Ethos). Also, watch for Mephistos Monday drops or find other breeders websites to buy direct. Multiverse Beans seems to do well by people here. Thanks for stopping by grow friend! I'm glad I went with 4 too. Considered doing 5, since its my plant limit and im trying to stay within that. But, seeing you guys doing the STS things got my itching to try that once I've got the growing down. Feeling good about things thus far!

Im looking forward to getting to know everyone and sharing my expiriences with everyone on here. Love afn, way better than the first forum I joined....i prolly dont have to mention which, their members are notorious dbags, not all but theres a few who look for new members and basically try and push them out.

Love the pics. Ive got some humbolt seeds im sutting on right now waiting for the rest of my supplies. Next week friday I should begin germinating

You can start babies around this time and go perpetual, just try and time it right so the light height is not so insanely different but i guess you could always boost them up on boxes providing the 4 giants you have don't block the light like a rain forest does below its canopy lol i doubt it tho, my 4 giants can't completely block out the light below and my baby is doing ok, their ages are 7 weeks on my 4 giants and 4 weeks old on the baby below and it works pretty good. when dry time comes i'll move the baby to a 2.3x2.3 tent i have ready.

As for using colloidal silver or STS (I never used STS) i recommend getting a cheap useless tent like a 2x2 or smaller and throwing 2 plants in there applying CS/STS to a branch or 2 NOT THE WHOLE PLANT like i did. you don't want a nuclear reactor of pollen like what i have going on plus you can smoke the rest of the buds if you only apply it to a lower branch or 2. you can not smoke any buds that CS/STS were applied too, bro science says it will kill you.
I can agree with our body not being able to get rid of heavy metals but i think i will risk vaping it in my solo or extreme Q still... i looked up the vape point of silver and it comes nowhere close to the 225C max i go on my vape.

Sorry for the long talk i just vaped red gorilla girl xl that i chopped yesterday, a few buds fell off when i was drying off buds i washed (dropped the plant in the dirt) i dried the small buds and vaped them this morning and I'm pretty stoned
