Still looking good. All plants now showing their sex, all females. One Muchacha is becoming a bush, while the other seems to want to be taller. Forum Stomper is really doing well, starting to open up more. SNxPP is definitely the most unique of the bunch. She was the slowest to get going, but the first to show gender. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this, and I'm really enjoying it! Thanks for visiting the

I can fill in another square on Beginner Growing Mistakes Bingo. Last night I noticed signs of nitrogen toxicity on all 4 plants. I caught it within 2-3 hours of them showing signs, watered thoroughly with RO water ph 6.3. Still some claws but I think they looked better this morning. They at least weren't worse. Ill hold off on any nutes for awhile, probably until they're in full flower. I've also started pruning some of the lower growth on both Muchachas.

Tonight I did the most training/pruning I've done. Both Muchachas got a bunch of lower growth pruned. I will let them recover a couple days and do a but more if it seems necessary/if they respond well this time. Forum Stomper got a little haircut as well. Accidentally snapped a fan leaf i didn't mean to, but it opened up a bud site and made it way easier to ponytail her. SNxPP is getting taller than the rest so I tied down her main branches to a more even height. I'll update tomorrow to see how things went! Have a good weekend yall, thanks for following along!

All the ladies got trimmed up again today. I also switched to bottom feeding and damn, I really prefer it already. It's way easier to water and the plants just take what they want! Pretty stoked on where things are at. I only hope I didn't stress the girls out too much, but they seem fine.

AC went out in the house, so things are a little warmer in the tent. Luckily its not getting out if control with a couple window units in other parts of the house. Got the first little buds forming. I'll probably wait another few days to add FOOP bloom, if I do it at all.

After 5 Weeks: Thoughts on this Grow So Far
  • As I hit the 5 week mark on this new venture I wanted to gather my thoughts on successes/failures so far. I also wanted a space to put down my plans for next time.
    Thoughts:
1.) I believe that my seedlings got off to a slow start for several reasons: Overwatering, wond burn, and fungus gnats. It has recently occurred to me that the hole i filled with Light Warrior for starting the seeds was probably too big~the seedlings probably took longer than ideal to reach the living soil mix.
2.) Rusting on leaves i believe was calcium lockout from low ph. I used RO water for my solution on the first feed but didn't use it right away and didn't double check the ph. I now know that RO water will drop ph when exposed to air, and sweetener can cause a reaction in the solution which lowers ph as well. Haven't had a recurrence since I adjusted my ph.
3.) N Toxicity: I ramped up the FOOP Veg 1&2 more quickly than I should have. They've recovered since I flushed with RO/Rainwater at 6.2 ph 15ppm.
4.) FOOP: Had an issue with N Tox like I said, but probably just my own error. Plants seem like it, but I don't think it's for me going forward. Its an easy way to supplement an organic grow, but I think I want to have more control and knowledge of what I'm adding to the soil and why.
5.)I think I'm doing well for my first time. Plants are healthy and I'm having fun with it. Getting my next run planned already.

    Plans for Next Run
  • Here's what I'm thinking for next time:

Genetics: Mephisto-CDLC, Samsquanch, Fugue State + Forum Stomper or Strawberry Nuggets x Pink Panama again

    Pots: 5 Gallon Airpots
    Medium:
Build A Soil Mix 2.2 CuFt Peat Kit
    Aeration-1.5 cf Pumice + 1 cf Rice Hulls + Biochar and lava rock .5 cf= 3 cf
Compost- 1 cf Lobster Compost + 2 cf worm castings/vermicompost
Top Dress/Tea: Build a Flower + Black Strap Molasses

This is what I'm thinking so far. Will update as I go. Thanks for following along! Regular grow update to follow.

They're getting thirstier and starting to fill up the tent. Drank a gallon each the last day and a half, bottom fed. Having to raise the light and inch or two a day now.
Edit: Did som tie down lst on the other two. Forum Stomper should benefit from it in particular.

Things are chugging right along. Bit of a humidity spike with lights off, will reintroduce another dehumidifier for nighttime. Last watering, I added 30% strength of FOOP Bloom 1&2 + Sweetener. Saw a little bit of clawing again so I'm gonna stop using at least the Bloom 2, which is 1-2-0. Bloom 1 is 0-0-0 fish excrement, kelp, and volcanic silica so I tried adding just that to the rainwater at 30% recommended strength to see how they react. Starting to think I may wind up with a pretty crammed tent! Worse problems to have i suppose. Thanks for following along!

    Whoops..
  • Had a little LST accident with Strawberry nuggets x Pink Panama. Snapped a stem, but not even a 1/4 way through. I tied the branch to. A stake and to the main stem itself. I think it will be fine. This plant is getting a little wild and I was trying to rein it in a bit, went too far. Oh well, should recover and its a lesson learned.
