New Grower Hog's First Grow

With bottom feeding, one of the things you want to be careful of is salt build up in the tray and the effects on water pH.

Good to know. Would top feeding every 3rd or 4th time with the pots raised up address that? Should I be putting the pots back on their risers after they've been watered or is that counterproductive?

I don't think you want to mix and match watering because the salts will collect on one side or the other and when you water from the opposite side, it sends that consecrated dose to the roots causing lockout. Guys have great success with airpots if you are looking to go that route.

Was looking at airports for next time. Thanks

Day 35: Muchachas. Day 32: Forum Stomper + Strawberry Nuggets x Pink Panama
Day Temp: 85° Humidity: 71%
Light: Mars Hyrdo FCE4800 14" @ 85%

AC went out in the house, so things are a little warmer in the tent. Luckily its not getting out if control with a couple window units in other parts of the house. Got the first little buds forming. I'll probably wait another few days to add FOOP bloom, if I do it at all.

After 5 Weeks: Thoughts on this Grow So Far
As I hit the 5 week mark on this new venture I wanted to gather my thoughts on successes/failures so far. I also wanted a space to put down my plans for next time.
Thoughts:
1.) I believe that my seedlings got off to a slow start for several reasons: Overwatering, wond burn, and fungus gnats. It has recently occurred to me that the hole i filled with Light Warrior for starting the seeds was probably too big~the seedlings probably took longer than ideal to reach the living soil mix.
2.) Rusting on leaves i believe was calcium lockout from low ph. I used RO water for my solution on the first feed but didn't use it right away and didn't double check the ph. I now know that RO water will drop ph when exposed to air, and sweetener can cause a reaction in the solution which lowers ph as well. Haven't had a recurrence since I adjusted my ph.
3.) N Toxicity: I ramped up the FOOP Veg 1&2 more quickly than I should have. They've recovered since I flushed with RO/Rainwater at 6.2 ph 15ppm.
4.) FOOP: Had an issue with N Tox like I said, but probably just my own error. Plants seem like it, but I don't think it's for me going forward. Its an easy way to supplement an organic grow, but I think I want to have more control and knowledge of what I'm adding to the soil and why.
5.)I think I'm doing well for my first time. Plants are healthy and I'm having fun with it. Getting my next run planned already.

Plans for Next Run
Here's what I'm thinking for next time:

Genetics: Mephisto-CDLC, Samsquanch, Fugue State + Forum Stomper or Strawberry Nuggets x Pink Panama again

Pots: 5 Gallon Airpots
Medium:
Build A Soil Mix 2.2 CuFt Peat Kit
Aeration-1.5 cf Pumice + 1 cf Rice Hulls + Biochar and lava rock .5 cf= 3 cf
Compost- 1 cf Lobster Compost + 2 cf worm castings/vermicompost
Top Dress/Tea: Build a Flower + Black Strap Molasses

This is what I'm thinking so far. Will update as I go. Thanks for following along! Regular grow update to follow.

Yeah, 5 gallons may be a bit overkill, but with just living soil/compost teas I feel like having a higher volume of medium is better. I may 'compromise' and do 5 in 3.6 gallon, lol time will tell

Day 36: Muchachas Day 33: Forum Stomper + Strawberry Nuggets x Pink Panama
Day Temp: 79° Humidity: 66%
Night Temp: 73° Humidity: 62%
Light: Mars Hyrdo FCE4800 16" @ 100%

They're getting thirstier and starting to fill up the tent. Drank a gallon each the last day and a half, bottom fed. Having to raise the light and inch or two a day now.
Edit: Did som tie down lst on the other two. Forum Stomper should benefit from it in particular.
