Indoor Growing Scrog

Human genetic imprinting of plants by applying spit to seeds? Not going to happen. For some, this 'imprinting" may help them 'bond' with their plants, and it's harmless. But it's not going to alter the seeds or their genetic material.

How does DNA, a huge molecule (I recall human DNA is 6 ft. long if stretched out/uncurled) or even portions, get through the thick seed covering (with water often even having a hard time) and other layers protecting the seed's germplasm/genetic material? Then how does the DNA get into relevant germplasm cells and then the cells' nuclei, survive digestion by cellular enzymes, and "imprint" the seed's genetic material?

Otherwise, "genetic imprinting" already has its own technical definition, not at all related to what is implied here.
This is not really the thread for alchemy and the techniques used by the old world. Everybody has their belief systems and my perception is lets say at the different end of the spectrum from the majority of those I meet.

The "Science" behind DNA as it is presented to us is almost all Johnny nonsense, DNA contains sound, colour and has a resonance, I'm just waiting for the "White Coats" to tell us through the Lancet Journal.

My Dutch Passion seeds did not fulfill. They all opened but did not present tap roots, even after 14 days. I've had this happen before, but I'm a rookie, I don't know, This might be helpful. At YouTube, search ...

Improved Cannabis Seed Germination with Hydrogen Peroxide

Never should it be a must to use hydrogen peroxide to germinate seeds. I still don't understand why the internet is full of recommendations of doing this in order to succeed. We have germinated hundreds of thousands of seeds and I can assure you, when you have fresh seeds there is 0 need to use anything but water (and possibly clean soil depending on your germ technique, but I prefer cotton pads)

Just plain/clean tap water should normally do, and if your tap/rain water is dirty just buy some mineral water to do it.

Nice one bro! Looking forward to this run!:headbang:

Do you use your saliva during the germ process to imprint? I read an article about the people that made Pinkleberry and the lady in the article recommended using a bit of saliva in your water when presoaking to imprint your dna on the plant. Thought it was really interesting, still havent tried it as i find my seeds too precious to spit on lol, but thought it was interesting.
Just pop the seed in your mouth and leave it there for about 2minutes and then sow it as usual.

Thanks Antonio. It was a study done at a university lab that compared results of many seeds sprouting, starting with RO water only, and then proceeding with escalating percentages of peroxide. They consistently got the most bang for their buck with a 1% solution, with lots of seed samples. Their suggestion was only that it probably upped the odds of success, not that it was required for success, or guaranteed it. And yes, it is a challenge to sort all the advice on the internet. 🙂 :thanks:

Day ~21. FastBuds Lemon on left, Dutch Passion Power on right. Lemon needed a second wire, with a tie around her main stem attached to it, to keep her from tipping over at the rockwool line. Dutch Passion has been a very delicate plant from the beginning, with airy leaves and stems. I messed up and lost her top. My bad. But her splotchy leaves are filling in green, and she is thickening up nicely. Don't know how to deal with her lost top, except to wait for her to make two tops, and then tip them over. ? ( RO, pH 6-6.2, EC 1.2, working up slowly to 1.3. )
( Lemon is showing what I can only guess, after hours of digging around, cal/mag deficiency. Have upped it to 5 ml/gallon. )

If you want to take cal-mag out of the equation, you could try General Hydroponics, NovaMax Grow, 1 part nutrient 7-4-10 as your main fertiliser. It has everything you need in its composition including cal-mag etc.

I have noticed with the few different strains ive worked with from Dutch Passion are very delicate when they are seedlings and once they hit veg the vigor really shines thru. And once flower starts! You wont even remember that delicate lil babe. You could even switch the word delicate with elegant and id think it would be more correct 👍

Thanks Antonio, DOA, and King. And 420 too for pointing out it was genetics, versus something I was rookie messing up on.
She is almost completely past her seedling splotch-i-ness, and flourishing. ( Still amazed at the growth rate with rockwool! )

Thank you! I hear some wierd practices regarding germination and all you really need is clean water and a little warmth, i like using root riot plugs now just because of how easy they are to work with, cant hold too much water and make planting after germination a less delicate process. Just gotta make sure you use quality plugs from a good source, i bought a cheap bag of plugs off amazon and immediately tossed them in the trash as they were infested with root gnats, you could see them crawling around in the bag! Yuck! Just never opened it and trashed it! Since then i only use Root Riot plugs.

Hey KR, any recommendations on old seeds? Had a few recently that cracked and showed a tiny bit of tap root and that was all.Tried planting but no luck.Same issue with different breeders using old seed.Soak for 24 hrs??? Scarify???
