Indoor Growing Scrog

Anyone have thoughts on this? ... Day 14 for top plant in photo, Dutch Passion Auto Power. Day 11 for bottom plant, FastBuds Lemon. Indentical situations from placing sprouts in wool. The top plant has had splotches like that since the first true leaves, although it seems to be getting slightly better. Watering 6-8 times a day, one or two shot glasses each time. The blocks were presoaked for pH and then presoaked in nutrients too. All distilled water, all along the way. pH has been 5.9-6.2 since day 1. I'm using a good pen. I'm following Dr MJ Coco's nutrient recommendation this round ( after having burned too many plants along the way ). Numbers on the chart are ml per gallon. Waiting on delivery of Diamond Nectar ( grayed out on the chart ) ...

BTW a tip I learned when I first started was to always leave your pen standing up when stored. So the whole probe is submerged.Beast done in the case or hang w/tether.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts. She's growing like a monster, I will let her sort this out. 🙂 ( The pen is new, came with a certificate of accuracy out of the box. I've switched back to General Hydo's three part nutes because the dyes in them in total are less dark, so can do a sanity check with the pH liquid test that comes with their pH Up/Down solutions. )

I like the liquid ph tests. I feel like my pen is always drifting, i can replicate the liquid test exactly every time. Call me crazy but i havent used my pen in months!

I totally agree. Am thinking about using only the liquid test going forward. After all, once you've mixed your nutes with your chosen water a few times, and tested, you know what adjustments are needed, within reason. And everything I've read from the cannabis scientists encourages pH drift anyway, to make the nutes that are north and south of 6.0 available once in awhile. 5.8 to 6.2, in that range.

Hey gromies! First post here after finding 420 through reddit and followed down the rabbit-hole. I just wanted to give a big thank you to all you awesome individuals throughout this thread. The abundance of knowledge and kindness has been great to read through.

Currently working up a draft and making a parts list for a 24x24 scrog enclosure to fit into my 36x36 tent with some spare ply I have handy. Along with the full irrigation system, which I hopefully don't miss a piece.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have some reports of my own to show!

Day 115, harvest day. Way more than I had hoped for! Many thanks again to 420, DOA, King, Lil Dab and others for their advice along the way.
Now it's on to grow two, and my first attempt at high stress training, the 420 way. :thanks:

Yes! That would be awesome you guys. 420Autoflower and Mongoose collaboration ebook/grow guide/course/blueprint, whatever it ends up as..
:yeahthat:

Ha, I did the cubic inch comparison too. 🙂 Couldn't resist the temptation to try it this way, after seeing that guy's success with only one 4" cube. So ... I removed the Grodan covers, added the panda film, and left it about 1/2" up from the base. I then sacrificed a 4" cube to make 1/2" slices, laid in the best direction to allow roots to make their way into the slices. Yep, will have to do some root trimming around the drain hole. The covers are 1/4" plywood. The tray cover has panda covering underneath, attached with spray adhesive. ) We'll see how this works out for me ... Makin' it up as we go along. 🤠 ( The plant is Dutch Passion Auto Power, growing very fast but her leaves a little splotchy. She looks better today after upping her nutes a bit yesterday. )

Clean and sterile looking setup my friend. 👍
Only problem I had with my 4” stack was keeping it standing upright when I was prepping for the net.

She's doing great I got a bit lazy in the end and she's gone wild but about to come down very soon

Oh yeah probably not every time but will be using your timing for training and what not even when not scrogging. I don't think I'll be doing in my 5x5 tent just large to manage smaller tents are better for that. But I have another scrog going now did two plants in a 3x3 in 1 gallon pots of coco this time.

Day 46 Dog whistle they look little rough today added a fertigation to the timer and messed up cause I woke up this morning to the pump running dry and Rez was drained lucky trays held the runoff so no mess to clean. But they did miss their second half the day feedings so they are a little droopy today should bounce back after a couple fertigations

They look healthy Bro!
Impressive for only 1 gallon containers!
Are you fertigating with fresh nutes or do you recirculate?

@420autoflower Is that enough defol?

My gut tells me to remove anything 5 and up.
Looks like a defoliation but not a complete schwazz.

Like anything with 5 or more leaflets? Curious how you do. I usually go for anything with a stem and anything facing inwards or covering any budsites working from the bottom up as best i can when the nets in place. Then from the top i work down again taking anything that could cover anythiing soon and that i missed the first time. Id take about the same as Dabs for a regular defol, but would hit a couple times thru flower alot more to open it up amd keep air moving
Yes. Sometimes a good defoliation is all you need.

My rule for defoliation, is when you think you've stripped enough off, strip some more
Amen Brother! 👊

Good afternoon y’all! Just gotta say how much I appreciate all you AFN family!!! Seriously good people here. Thanks for letting me be a part!
We appreciate you too Brother!
Thank you for always chiming in and giving solid advice.

It's a decent plant but scrog was my goal.Got over whelmed with the defol. After the supercrop I couldn't keep up. Sorry 420 for hijacking your thread.
No worries @wangotango321!
Post as you wish. 👍

Sorry for the late reply. The lights just about fit in the 2x4, the blocks are just set up between the lights so everything looks even. I don't measure the distances between them, just by eye.

As for the distance I have the lights above the canopy, I start of at approximately 50cm. The lights are on full blast, 24/7 they only draw 220w from the board so are cheap to run. Having the lights on like this also helps keep the environment stable.

Once the plants are framed up I lower the lights to about 40cm, I've never used a light meter, it's all just done by feel.

Don't worry about short thick stems, the thicker stems will be able to carry more nutrients a shorter distance. Short stems for this method are actually desirable
Hope all is well with you Buddy!

Hi, I'm new here, but I read the whole thread jajaja, and there's some really good information. I have a question because I'm having trouble translating "Once the plants are farmed up." What does DOA refer to? At what point does it lower them to 40 cm?
Thanks, and greetings from Argentina!
Hello there! :toke:
I'm going to try a double screen with Vivosun 3.5" netting, offset with the zip ties.
No idea if it will work. We need 2" or 2.5" inexpensive and non-elastic netting.
I like using 3.5” nylon netting and some green gardening wire to make my own areas to tuck.

Genetics! Nothing to worry about. It will go away.

I use a 7.0 calibration solution with my Blue Lab pens but it’s always good to have a liquid tester around to refer too.
