Indoor Growing Scrog

Sanity check please: at this stage of growth, ( about 20 days ), should I remove all large fan leaves that are totally or mostly shading new stems? Started on that with plant on the left, not yet with plant on the right. ( Aside: accidentally left the fertigation pumps on all night a few days ago. 3/8" hoses, lots of flow. I thought for sure I had done them in. Both plants grew remarkably, even shockingly overnight. Crazy, eh? )

Im not sure you start quite so early, but you can always tuck it out of the way! Pinch the stem of the leaf if you have to, itll be fine

I don’t know about removing them all this early but you can pluck a couple to open the nodes. As @420autoflower says “if you can’t tuck it pluck it”

What King said. Great post, love the details.

... And speaking of sprouting seeds, this is definitely the way I will do it next time, just ordered cotton pads.
Mine probably didn't put out tap roots, although they opened a bit, because they were waaaay too wet ...

Yep! You CAN drown seeds with too much water!

I wouldn’t cut any leaves until the stretch is almost done. Don’t be afraid to shove the fans all the way down and inside everything. No defol means no stress.

If you want to take cal-mag out of the equation, you could try General Hydroponics, NovaMax Grow, 1 part nutrient 7-4-10 as your main fertiliser. It has everything you need in its composition including cal-mag etc.
Yes, Brother! As you already know, Nova Max Grow is basically the US version of General Hydroponics FloraNova Grow. Great stuff! Only 1 bottle for veg (FloraNova Grow) and 1 bottle for flower (FloraNova Bloom). I run the FloraNova Grow religiously from seed to after preflower stretch and it guarantees me no deficiencies.

:hump:Another EPIC grow of our man @420autoflower :thanks: online at the Dutch Passion blog website :

If anyone is interested in any Dutch Passion strain/variety, just go to dutch-passion.blog and search for the variety there.
We also have a lot of guides about germination, growing (outdoor and indoor) on there.

Peace out and big up to our top-grower 420! :bump:

Smoke on!:baked:
Thank you so much Antonio! 🙏
The blog looks fantastic! Had a great time running your top shelf genetics and hope to showcase more DP cultivars in the future.

Hey Mongoose!
Try to tuck as much as possible and only selective defoliation at this stage. In a week you’ll have more of an established root system and you’ll be able to strip as much as you want with very little stress to the plant.
Good time to start bending the 2 main nodes over on the plant you accidentally topped if you haven’t already. 😉

You got it Dab!
“if you can’t tuck it… pluck it”!
Need to expose the nodes!

Front left corner: ILGM Apple Fritter harvested 2/20/25 on day 105 (657g), back left corner South Side Genetics Chocolate Mint Jelly harvested 2/20/25 on day 100 (708g), back right corner Crystal Cavern Hulks Stash harvested 2/20/25 on day 105 (798g), front right corner South Side Genetics Chocolate Mint Jelly harvested 3/2/25 on day 108 (961g).
All 4 plants had The 420autoflower bent coat hanger method applied to them and also spread out with 3.5" netting but were never flattened out with the 420autoflower SCROG method. Would have easily been over a 10 pound crop if I gave them the 420 SCROG treatment but the 5x5" tent just wasn't big enough.
