Harvest & Curing Grove Bags and Boveda Curing

I just put my first harvest into 1 ounce grove bags. Am I understanding that I don’t have to burp these bags? As long as the hygrometer reads 62%?
That is correct. I ran some from 58% to 65% on my chepo hygrometers. :haha:

These bags will burp themselves as long as you get the moisture down to around 10-11% on a moisture meter. please be sure you are inserting the probes of the moisture meter through the densest bud and into the stem as the stem hold most of the moisture.

I would take a look at your product just to be sure there Isn't an excess of moisture. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call at 216-815-5725

How much head space is needed in the bag or since the product should be close a proper dry, just go by the weight on the bag it's designed to protect?

My buds tested ~12% on my meter. I trimmed them mechanically and put them in the grove bags with hygrometers and they went up to about 67% in a couple of hours so I dumped them into a paper bag for overnight. They now read 62% in the Grove bags overnight so I removed they hygrometers and heat sealed the bags. Put labels on them immediately - you have been warned! I have 3 bags I don't know what they are  .

What sizes are those?

At least 25% of the bag should be enough head space. If your not sure at least one fist worth the room below the zipper.

To avoid having to leave in a paper bag, try to dry down to 10.5-11% on your moisture meter. Everyones Moisture meter may read a hair different. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. 216-815-5725

Yes Thanks, I wanted to error on the side of wet since this was the first time using the meter and it is easier to get moisture out than putting it back in.

With my new Trim bowl and Grove bags I can trim a plant and bag it in under an hour! The best part is no repetitive motion pain and no burping.

@WildBill The big one is 1/4 pound (4 ounces) and the smaller are the 1 ounce size.
