Fuggzy
Perfectly Flawed
@Sr00m3c8zy This is a general run down of my soil. IPM stand for Integrated Pest Management. I will go more in depth on that later. More or less it's just preventing critter invasions. Still cooking, but if you have any questions, let them rip.
Base
25 gallons used living soil (peat moss based)
7.5 gallon fresh coco charged with cal/mag, kelp extracts, and Earth Juice catalyst I want to get to a full coco soil, and am adding it to every mix
5 gallons mushroom compost The 2 different compost, and worm casting are primary for the microbial life in them.
5 gallons Coast of main lobster compost
5 gallons worm castings (5 varieties)
1 bag royal oak lump coal smashed and brewed 3 days in EWC tea The biochar acts like apartment building for the microbial life.
5 gallons rice hulls This is a perlite substitute, and purely for aeration
Amendments
2 cup shrimp meal 6-6-0 This is a faster action crustacean meal, and part on my IPM Great source of N-P, and Calcium
4 cup crab meal 4-3-0 This is a slower acting crustacean meal, and will help sustain the soil longer. Also high in Ca, and part of the IPM
2 cup lobster meal 6-2-0 This is also a fast acting crustacean meal, high in N, moderate in P, and part of the IPM (I chose the 3 different crustacean meals for biodiversity, and to keep my Ca levels high enough to not need cal/mag (so far so good)
4 cups oyster flour This will also help with Ca, act as a pH buffer, and help with
aeration
3 cup kelp meal 1-0.1-2 Kelp is know for having growth hormones, and is great for veg production. It also has some K in it, even though not a ton, it helps. (we don't need a shit load) Kelp is the fastest growing plant known, reaching up to a meter daily I think.
1 cup wild seaweed (unrinsed) I wanted to get some local seaweed to add to the diversity. I chose not to rinse id because ocean water is LOADED with minerals, and organic goodies. I was hoping to harvest some of that.
2 cup fish bone meal 3-16-0 This is my primary source of P, and also has a good amount of Ca in it.
4 cups green sand 0-0-3 This is my primary source of K
1 cup chicken manure 3-2-3 Chicken shit not only has the NPK value, but also has micro nutrients.
1 cup rabbit manure ~2.4-1.4-0.6 Rabbit shit is cold, and does not need to be composted. I also have a rabbit so this is free.
1.5 cup neem cake Mainly for my IPM
1.5 cup karanja cake Mainly for my IPM
5 cups diatomaceous earth Also part of the IPM, and adds silica to the soil. Silica is vita for celuar wall development.
5 lbs Azomite dust This is one of the best sources of minerals
