Fuggzy's little happy trees!

Alright, I have come to the conclusion that I am becoming a seed junkie. To be honest I am just fine with it too, lol. Right now I have somewhere in the ball park of 18 different strains in route. To be honest I don't even know how many seeds there will be, I fucking lost count! Photos, Autos, Semi-autos, Landraces, a secret weapon of CBD made with Harle-Tsu, Bubba Kush S1 potential Pre 98, like wow style genetics. Including a rare or unseen Landrace details on that later. C99, and F99 autos & crosses. I thought I had a respectable collection, but it just became killer! I don't think I will ever order from a "big box" seed bank, I sure as hell don't need to. If you guys have never dealt with a private breeder, I highly suggest it. You run the risk of getting crap, but in my experiences, not a often as the big name guys.... Pride over payment seems to be more common. A good place to start is the Portal gift shop. Stone is a solid guy, and always there to talk ganja. That alone is great. No company rep, the actual breeder... Check him out. https://shop.autoflower-portal.net/shop/ Not to mention The prices are usually at least 1/2 that of big breeders. Nothing against the big guys, Dinafem has shown me an amazing level of respect, but their price tag matches it.

A word to ponder: Helmand

I have only dealt with small private breeders, and personally could/would never pay the prices the mega seed companies/banks charge.

You are correct that the vast majority of private breeders take pride in their work, they primarily do it for the love of our sacred herb. Many private breeders just like to share their genetics with others as well. Most all encourage others to breed using their genetics,as well as reproducing the original strains. It is always good etiquette to ask the small breeders if you can work with their genetics. I have never had a problem, when asking though.

Let the pollen fly!

I was a bit hyper last night, and forgot to mention this too. So far I have had a positive response, and they normally are interested with what you can do... I just have not got that far yet....

I also want to clarify, this is not my experiences, but like with everything in the world, not all breeders are made the same. I have had an easy time finding info on the breeders, just a hard time finding the actual breeders.

Man my last post just looks like 1 run on sentence, full of canna jargon, lol. I'm still pretty stoked though!

Don't forget Helmand, it is going to be important here soon.

I got a hold of some Electric Dogshit yesterday. I haven't looked it up yet, but it is pretty nice. Enough I broke my "I'm not spend money on herb" standing. When cracked open, it looks to be covered in brown sugar, but under the pocket scope it is mainly cloudy heads, maybe 10% amber. Smells like limes, sage, and a strange funk I'd guess is from the Dogshit. Haha I wouldn't mind having this in seed form too.

Off to the garden I go. Take care guys.:smoking:

@Sr00m3c8zy Sure bud we can talk dirty. I tagged you here to not fill up @tripaholic88 thread with my jargon. Let me start off by saying I am not an organic god, nor do I think of myself as such. I'm just a guy that likes to grow plants and get my hands dirty. There is no one way to go about this, and if there is something you don't like, chances there is a work around...

So lets start here... What do you already know about organic soil? If it is nothing that's fine, but good to know now.

Have you ever done any gardening, cannabis or otherwise?

Do you want to use organic soil with bottled nutrients, or would you like to use super soil, and teas instead? I have done both, and prefer the super soil route.

Fair warning... Super soils are an addiction of their own. You will fall in love with your soil and be proud when it works out. My soil is more important to me than my plants are sometimes. They are also a lot more work in the beginning. It is back breaking w/o some tools, and not very conducive to apartment living. Above all my gear though, my soil is the most important to me. (not just my current mix, it is a process that has taken over a year to build)

If you would like I will break down my soil and explain why I chose the items I did. It may help you understand why some recipes look really out there, but perform excellently. **My soil has not gown through a complete grow, but so far has only received 2 feedings, and the rest just plain water. My plants are 26 days old today, and have shown zero signs of stress or deficiencies. (I got critter damage, but not soil damage) I'll take a few pic of them tonight, but if you want to see a few, click on either the top mid, or top right links in my signature. It will give an example of the plants. Again, any damage you see it critter damage... They had a rough weekend not long ago.

When you have an idea of how you want to go about the soil, I can send you in different directions for some good reading. I'll share anything I know as long as you don't mind doing the reading. So let me know what you think. I'll chat with you later bud.:smoking:

@Fuggzy yeah all sounds good bro it's hard for me to decide really. But I want to take a hands on approach with my soil ID like to have something I can say I grew out of something I made. Now I don't have to much experience in growing anything and that's why I'm here to learn before I start.

As for your soil ID love to hear what the process is to make and products I need to use. One question with the soil should it be its own mixture for different types of buds.

Oh yeah and any reading you can send my way it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the info.

Okay I'll type something up explain the ingredients, and why. as far as different builds for different strains, there are multiple trains of thought to that. I generally use the same soil for all plants, and alter whet I feed as I go. Some guys like to do layers. Flower soil on bottom, veg on top, with a seedling core. It will all come down to what appeals to you really. I recommend going with a general approach to learn, and if you want to change it up later, you can. It will all just depend how much work you want to put in. For the time maybe have a look at the ground cover link in my signature, it ties in to the whole thing. I'll get some links together for you to browse through. Take care.:smoking:
