New Grower First Journal: This is how we grow Moonijuana

Better shot of the two today; the Fantasmo Express looks like it's recovering nicely; the delayed sprouting time on the Sour Crack may have hurt me here though; it looks a bit worse for the wear today.

As you can see, the discoloration has spread, and that tip is dry and stiff. I'm a bit worried, but if it's just nute burn it should be alright once it grows a bit and can tolerate the soil, and I know not to rip it up as that would only make things worse (bad enough it lost a bit of root being planted in the first place. Trying not to freak out over it. At least the F.E. is looking sexy:

Nute burn hasn't increased, and I think it's even shrinking but that could just be optimism on my part. I think I see the beginnings of sex showing, but again I could just be mistaking new growth for what I want to see. Either way, she looks healthy and strong.

Gave them a nice drink of RO water this morning (depleted all my rainwater recently).

For future plantings, I'd love advice about alternatives to tiered planting. My box is so small, I really, REALLY could use those extra inches, but it's clear the soil itself will be too hot for root cubes to be planted directly. Obviously there's some time to spare, but I intend to have new seeds germing as these are finishing up, and I would like to be drying at the same time new seedlings are hitting soil, so I don't lose any time.

Quick update today.

The ONA gel seems to be working; no odor until I cracked open the case, and mmmm....that Fantasmo smells delightfully weedy now. The Sour Crack smells more of chlorophyll than anything at the moment, but it's also a few days behind but looking stronger.

First up, the Fantasmo Express:

Lots of growth going on, looking strong and healthy with no new signs of burn at all. She's getting tied down in multiple places, but she's exploding between sessions, to the point I can't tie her down as fast as she grows up!

Next a look at the Sour Crack:

No new nute burn, and she's slowly catching up to the F.E. after all this time. I'm less worried she'll hermie, but still worried about her yield.

More RO water for the girls, but it looks like they're solid on nutes still from the soil.

Finally, a quick look at the trough:

Took a bigger airpot, cut out a rectangle, pulled it into a U and taped it there (I also cut a strip of the no-holes part and caulked it into the holes on one side, so both sides of the trough would have the three-row solid area up top).

The sides were made by taking cardboard cut to match the ends, and wrapping them in plastic, then gluing and taping them into place. It holds the soil just fine, and lets me make the most of the limited footprint of my case.

At this point I will feel much better if someone tells me it's perfectly normal to stare at your plants during your first grow, just in awe of how they're, like ACTUALLY growing!

Because I find myself either cracking open my case whenever I can, or peeking through the fan vent, or looking at pictures when I'm not able to do the first two!

you just stare at them ? dont you play music and talk to them to ?

Yes, but if you experience an erection for longer than 6 hours, please relieve yourself or seek medical help..........

Growing Moonijuana looks epic! I like it.

Grey Bear, I only get aroused watching your grows bro  :porn perv:

Just gawking right now...I'm sure I'll do some music and monologues once I get past the "Oh my God, they're actually alive! They're ALIVE!" phase

They're not THAT sexy....yet.

I can always dream of getting a BOM nom, but until then there's much better weed porn links to be had around here, like your beastly 520g harvest.

Well, the Sour Crack is beginning to hit its stride; it's looking grander each time I check in on it. Here's the latest glance from inside:

First, the Fantasmo Express:

Looking good, and getting bushy and difficult to manage up top. She's beginning to enter the explosive vertical growth stage I presume; it's going to be very hard to train her, as the compact nature of my box coupled with the tiered planted have made LST much harder than expected.

Next, the Sour Crack:

As you can see, the nute burn is largely a thing of the past; having grown into the hot soil it's putting up new, healthy leaves and gaining enough momentum to really get going.

A healthy amount of RO water was fed today, along with some liquid kelp and biological inoculate to provide just a dash more food and soil life to ensure their continued health; they might not need any nutes for some time yet, but I figured the liquid kelp was gentle enough to provide something just in case.

Anyone know when I should start seeing gender signs? I'm trying not to be paranoid about them staying female, but I really don't want to lose one of them as a hermie (hell, I only have room for two!)
