New Grower PatRatts First Grow Journal

Well the greenhouse did its job last night. It was 44 degrees inside the greenhouse this morning with outside air temperature of 36, but it got down to 34. Tonight will be the real test with temperatures getting down to 28. I ran the heater last night for a few hours and got the temp inside up to 82. I didn't run it all night. I am going to run it tonight for a few hours as well. I still have a towel wrapped around the pot to keep it warm, and is still in the center of the greenhouse.

Trichomes are getting close! I think by this weekend she might be ready for the chop. I have a magnifying glass with a ten times magnifier and I checked and I saw a bunch of cloudy with some clear. I'm going for cloudy with a few amber.

So my plant survived the cold spell. Temps outside got down to 27 degrees this morning. The temperature inside the greenhouse was 40 degrees! I haven't seen any signs of mold/budrot yet. Nothing major as far as insects are concerned either. So far so good! This grow has gone a LOT better than my first one, that's for sure!

Harvest day!

Well, she got the chop today.

I realized I had not planned ahead properly because I don't have a good place to dry my bud. I can't use the garage because it is too musty and humid in there. So I got a black hanging drying rack and just hung it in the greenhouse. I left all the leaves and stems on there so it will take longer to dry. Unfortunately I can't control the environment very well this way, but I have a fan circulating air. (Blowing away from the drying rack of course.) The greenhouse is in a lot of shade this year so hopefully that will help as well. I just gotta hope for the best that my bud will be fine in there. I know what yer gonna say, yes I know I should plan ahead for this stuff, but I didn't. I know the greenhouse is not ideal for drying, but it is all I got for now. It is my first completed grow, so...

The weather is supposed to be pretty mild but there is a chance of rain on Friday. The roots filled out the pot pretty well, but not as much as I thought it might with that Dynomyco. I think it made a huge difference though in helping my plant survive the stress. As for curing, I have some small grove bags I am going to use. It won't take much though, as I will likely only have maybe a couple grams after drying. I got one big main but, a couple smaller ones and mostly popcorn buds on the lower branches.

I took a tester off the other day, quick dried and smoked it. I have to say it was better than any dispo weed I have bought. Very smooth smoke.

Well, my harvest is dry now. I forgot to post this two days ago when I trimmed and bagged. I saved a few grove bags from when I went to the dispensary and I am using one to cure. I have not weighed it yet. I don't have a digital scale.
