New Grower First Journal: This is how we grow Moonijuana

Just a quick update on that BlackStar LED. Namely:

HOLY. SHIT.

Just ten hours in the box today, and a leaf that wasn't looking very perky this morning on the Fantasmo is already flat, broad, and DAMN!

I wish I'd taken a before pic from today, but trust me when I say there was barely any difference between yesterday's pic and when it went in this afternoon. Of course, now I'm worried how much potential harvest I've lost before getting this, but WOW...worth every penny.

Good news is, at least I'll have another round going soon that will be under this from seed to harvest.

Bro you're killing me! Mine is still sitting in the box it came in because I can't even plug it in yet!

Damn I'm excited now!

Oh, and I don't think you really lost any time or potential yield. In my experience the countdown only begins when they've shown sex.

So, for those who were curious what the finished product looks like at this point:

I give you: The Moonijuana Growing Chamber

The complete feature list:

1. Ceramic heating lamp, with external temperature control and internal probe (to keep box warmed to 80F/27C)
2. BlackStar 100W UFO LED lamp
3. Heavy Duty Mylar Lining on all six internal sides, including both removable side walls.
4. Internal PSU rewired to a dual cord outlet, with onboard intake fan
5. DC converter to power all onboard fans
6. Dual 120mm Exhaust fans
7. Mesh screen for ona gel dissipation, for extra-high strength odor removal.

Once I finish fabricating the light proof baffles and irrigation line, this thing will be completely stealth and automated. On the moon, our growboxes are so advanced we don't even have to open them to grow potent moonijuana.

loving it Timetraveler, whats the plan for keeping the girls short

Thanks for the kind words and support, all! Hoping to get a great harvest from this first grow, and mega thanks to Wienerwoods for the light tip! I already sent rep your way, but wish I could do it again seeing the results!

Planning on LST once the tiered planting happens, probably tomorrow morning.

holy shit is right! nice light and set-up

Thanks man! Always good to get compliments on my work, especially on the first go.

Tier transplanted them into the airpot trough today. Roots were all the way down to the bottom of the cup; one snapped off the Sour Crack despite my gentle handling (not gentle enough), but hopefully it won't kill or hermie it.

The Fantasmo was easy-peasy. Tied them down for LST, as with the increased height from the trough they're rather close to the lights. Shouldn't be an issue, if I keep them trained and down.

I managed to save some rainwater recently, so that was mixed in with some biological inoculate, and a dusting of great white myco at the site of planting. Should be good progress, I'll post some pics in a couple days once they've acclimated. Wish me luck!

Weekend update! Looks like some minor leaf damage; I'm guessing light nute burn from the transfer to full strength soil. It's hard to tell from the pics (couldn't get model-shots, will tomorrow morning), but the discoloration and pattern is roughly the same on both, and it's more clear in the Fantasmo Express lighting.

First up, here's the Fantasmo:

Note the slight discoloration on the leaf tips at the bottom right; it looks like nute burn to me, but this is my first grow and all, so I can't be sure.

Next is the Sour Crack:

You can make out a biiiit of the discoloring on the bottom middle, but the LED lights affected the color more strongly here. The leaves are twisting/curling a bit, but I believe that's because I LST'd it away from the light, and it may be growing towards it is all. Either way, feedback welcome!

Yeah, that looks like a bit of nute burn.

Can you take a picture of the air-pot trough? Sounds very interesting.

Also, you may wanna cover the white pots with tape or something in case light is penetrating it which roots don't like.
