New Grower First Journal: This is how we grow Moonijuana

The bud sites are getting denser and bigger; I'm still nervous about how good the yield will be (I'm hoping for half an ounce; my original hope for an ounce total seems too lofty now). The trichomes are spreading and there's some gorgeous hairs showing up. Here's some pics of the best parts of the ladies. First, the Fantasmo Express:

Looking good and getting healthy; I think the main cola snapping itself on a training wire hurt this plant's yield, as this one here is now the main and the other sites don't look that healthy and strong. Definitely need to SCROG this strain when I plant it in the future.

Next, a couple shots of the Sour Crack.

And another:

The sour crack is looking awesome, though. Lots of trichs, several strong and healthy sites, and she feels much denser and sturdier.

Harvest by my count should be in a week or two; I've got a nice batch of super soil ready for the next grow, and I'm going to sprout some seeds in a week so they'll be ready when these get the chop. I'm super excited to be at the end of the grow, but nervous that I won't get enough to last until the next harvest. Oh well, I've gone this long without anything at all, I can manage.

No pics today, been fairly busy, but the plants are definitely getting close to harvest; the formerly healthy green fan leaves are starting to fade in color, but as it's been weeks since any new light bleaching occured and the buds have swollen and gotten dense and stinky, I'm assuming this means they're about ready to chop. I won't have time over the weekend, so I may have to cut them early tomorrow if it keeps up, rather than wait until monday.

I'm a little nervous about the yield still; I'm sure it won't be enough to last until my next grow is done. I'll be germing some new seeds tomorrow, and hopefully planting them on Monday. While these dry inside the box (or maybe in a paper bag), the new sprouts will start growing. Hopefully by shaving a couple weeks between the two I might make the harvest last longer. I'll post the new grow journal on Indoor grows.

I made a small 3x2x3 foot cab for storage and decided to use it for a seedling cab with a few cfl's.2-4 weeks before I harvest I start 1 or3 in it so they have a jump start. i'll never run out again. looking good despite the problems. abd your next will be better. + on the net or screen for a scrog

Chop day! Today was chop day everyone! Oh man, it was amazing.

So, of course the number of dried out, light-burned and damaged fan leaves and buds were disheartening, but I have severely underestimated the potency, health, and vigor of Mephisto strains. The buds were dense and hard and sticky, and there was quite a bit to be had. I think there was a solid 5 ounces or so, wet weight. Don't have a scale as yet, but working on that next.

So, here's some pics of the goodness. Firstly, the main Fantasmo Express cola:

It smelled amazing, and I was very pumped to see it. There was a very substantial harvest compared to the Sour Crack, as evidenced by the amount in the bottom of the bag for drying:

Once I got past the dead and dried leaves and buds (a sad amount that also reveals how potent this plant COULD have been if I'd done a better job training and growing it, but next time I guess).

I'd have taken a picture of the Sour Crack, but damn...it was incredibly dense and strong. I ended up having to just chop the main stem, and snip off buds as I went. It was a very healthy, tight plant. I'm very excited to get the cure done and see what these are like at the end.

The last step was getting the soil emptied out and mixed into my new organic mixture. DAMN, those airpots don't play when it comes to supporting a strong root network. Getting the roots and base of the stems out of the soil was a nightmare; the thing was CHOKED with roots. After dumping it out of the trough, I basically had a half-cylinder of soil shaped like it. The roots were so pervasive that I finally had to just dunk it into some rainwater to rinse the soil free, because shaking and working it loose barely knocked much soil free.

So, I'll keep you guys posted here on the drying and curing, then I'll post my reviews later. Meanwhile, it's off to germ two more seeds. The next grow will see some changes: plugs of seedling mix instead of tiered planting, and I'll be reworking the case to raise the light a few more inches. Hopefully between that and some work on a screen for SCROG training will allow me to see even better results. I'll see you all there in indoor growing!

Broke off a tiny bit of the fantasmo express to try it out, see how the high was already before a proper dry and cure.

DAMN. Just...damn. I can't wait to see what the final product is like, because green and still fairly wet this stuff was unreal. One bowl (of wet bud, not even a proper bowl of the equivalent dried) had me up and super alert for hours, easing into a long period of euphoria and pleasantness. Now, in the interest of full disclosure I will say I haven't smoked in like 7 months, but even so, I've never had weed hit me that hard off a single bowl, except for when I used to get dispensary bud in Cali.

I'm very impressed, and very excited to see what a proper dry and cure brings.

Damm is right TT cause your giving me the jones, lol ... who am I kidding I keep the jones ... I see a pinch in my near future, lol ... Congrats bro ... Peace!

Well, final weight is in as the buds settle in for a long cure. About three quarters of an ounce from each, leaving me with just over an ounce and a half. Good times! Things got a little hectic for me this weekend, so I couldn't germ the new plants just yet. See you guys for the next grow soon!
