Indoor First Indoor Grow Under Lights

My auto NL did the same a few years ago. Just one big bush. Waited and waited then had to eliminate due to the set up. May have been more than one.

Your plants look good. And you have all the top growers circling! You got lucky.

Good luck

Cheers

...It may even come to *gasp* clipping the top main of the TD if it gets up in that roasting zone,...

Thanks, mate. I'm hoping it won't come to that. The TD main stem is quite pliable, so she is bending to my will. :twist:

NL has just started her stretch, now at 47". Should be some serious buddage showing in my next update. :dance2:

Cheers, GCase. Friend in high places, and all that. But it just shows what kind of site AFN is.

Update time! "Bailers Booya" :niceshot:

All photos are taken in the grow room as the ladies are now too large to move safely. It's the rainy season here, so temps are lower (around 30C) and RH higher (70 - 80%).

Feeding continues to be a mix and match of orchid food, fish ferts and molasses.

Because of the bending, only one side of the main cola gets direct light. Most of the flowers are, obligingly, growing on one side. It will be an odd-looking cola.

Some group shots. If I had known these two would grow this large, I would have grown them one at a time. :dunno: It's tight in there!

A couple of questions: Should the rest of the grow should be on a 12/12 light schedule to avoid revegging? And do I need extra K (as discussed previously), considering the K contents of the orchid food, molasses and fish ferts? Thanks. :tiphat:

"Bailers Booya" :hump::hump: "Bailers Booya" Gettin' nice and busy in there brudda!! The girls are looking stellar! You're rocking this grow Canna,...:d5: ...yes, stay on the 12/12 just to be safe...it may add a little extra time, but it'll be worth it,... As for the nute's,... generally, I think P gets top billing (should be the largest number) for initiation and early bloom, then mid bloom more or less even P-K, then last phase is when a higher K number vs. P is what works best,.. that orchid food may have a good K number, but the sheer amount of P puts the balance off for what's optimal at that stage,... I'd like to have DubV chime in on this,... maybe cutting way back on the orchid food during the last 1/2 or 1/3 of blooming would be wise...? Gaahhh! it sucks not knowing what the values are on the feeesh bloom,..! And not having access to other nutes,... send Dub a VM if you like...***... I wonder, if human K supplements could be adapted for this purpose?... :dunno:

I'm tempted to go with the potash idea, Waira. Coconut husks are high in K, and there's no shortage of coconuts here. I'm just worried a little about the alkalinity. I guess I could water in a little at a time and see how it goes.

OK, noted. Cheers bro.

:stylez rasta smoke: Canna, if coco' has the goods, it's a green light for trying! I looked around some about how much ash to add to a solution, but found nothing practical for your specific needs,...without a pH meter, it's kinda dicey guesswork about adjusting pH with the ash-water soln., even with something mild like vinegar or lemon juice... I've tugged on the sleeve of our in-house organic Uberman, JM... gave him a quick run-down about what your dealing with,... let's see what he suggests!

G'day mate :tiphat: ...the problem is finding dry coconut husks! Coconut waste is burned here all over the place, but we're smack in the middle of the rainy season, :slaps: so much of the K gets washed away. I'll just have to start my own fire.

Yet another big name visiting my humble grow. What would I do without you bro? :dunno::bow::Sharing One::smoke:

ash should be amended to soil, in advance... and allowed to "work in" or cook in...

bioolgy is key for anything like that (organic amendments)

SE asia.... rice hulls are great... high in silica...

Appreciate you taking the time to look in, JM. Is it inadvisable to try to water in coco husk ash at this stage, nearly three weeks into flowering? Given that I have no access to nutes other than 10:52:17 orchid food, molasses and fish ferts for flowering, do you have any other suggestion for boosting K? Thanks man. :tiphat:
