Run smaller strains in both first. Maybe run a 60-75 Day Mephisto. I saw the journal where someone just ran a 55 day DWC. Be able to learn and see your plant quicker, those xxl or breeders that are running 120 days will be a recipe for disaster on your first autopot or DWC grow.

Glad you found inspiration in my dirty water. But find a way that you can be comfortable with and also gets you good results. And above all, enjoy the process.

Oooh so i remember another ramble....
Lights. So i have 2x 65w autocobs now for the 2 plants and it appears to be fine. I want to add another light to my grow.
Ive got my eye on a quantum board. Dont really know anything about em but they are kinda cool lookin!
Im eyeing something in the 150+ watt range, and id like it to be dimmable. Probably not gonna discover any latent diy talent so ill just buy one preassembled, probs hlg.

I have 3 HLG 260s (2 in flower tent, 1 in veg) and LOVE them. Dimmable from 150-280 watts.

Yessir! All enjoyment, even the stresses, so far! Im reading through your journal and the approach you take feels like its more in tune with organic soil growing, which i am loving so far.
Heres a quick, shallow interpretation.....you are going light on feeds, you seem to have a good grasp on what the plant wants/needs versus forcing a bunch of crap down the plants throat on some sorta arbitrary schedule. You let bennies do the lifting.
With this kindsoil grow im trying to get in a groove of just reading the plant as the bennies do the lifting.
In my mind theres not a huge philosophical jump between the 2. Logistics are abso different but the theme feels the same, to this neophyte anyways

Yessss! So something im wondering about. Its not a dealbreaker to me at all but how about the noise level of the lights? Im spoiled but the cobs are silent.
Last question for now, what about the heat? Ill be back in the basement by the time i grab new lights and temps shouldnt be an issue.

Quantum boards are silent. Zero noise, no moving parts.

And heat is minimal. Depends on how hard you drive them. Tent too hot, dim the lights and lower them.

Happy sunday afn. Just finished a big bowl of crapweed and did a monster haircut on my other plant. Im ready to ramble a bit....
So i did a thing this weekend. I am trying to "step up" my grow game, even tho i barely have any grow game lol.
I pulled the trigger on an autopot system and a new hlg 160w quantum board kit. Im setting myself up for (hopefully) some great grows!
Heres tentative plan of attack.....
The wifey greenlit me using another closet for grow space. Im going to set the autopot and qb up in its own closet, grow space approx 36x36x58. Im gonna try and set up an organic water only grow with super soil, and im going to plant a grapey walter from mephisto.
Im excited, having the 2nd grow space opens up a lot of possibilities, i might even work up the courage to try a photoperiod.
Got a black cheese seed id like to try but not at the expense of the autos.
So yeah, this homeboi is excited, its like im waiting on xmas presents or something lol.
Course, my excitement is tempered by the fact that i will have to assemble the autopot and qb light.
I think the last thing i actually assembled was a team of trainers in pokemon go lolol. Should be an interesting day when my new gear shows up. Ill be hollering at some of you fine afn folk for sure @Frenjamin Banklin @GrowingAutos
