I read some thread a dude put riot cube in rockwool cylinder cube and then in to bottom of mesh pot, is this a good idea?

Haha my root came off the same way on my 2nd plant. You can actually see the difference in vigor between the 2 plants in my journal. The plant my air pump molested got left in the dust.

It was basically right after the root hit the water that it happened and it was noticeable. Check the journal link in my sig and you can see all the pictures side by side. Granted I was growing two different strains at the time but the growth difference was still BONKERS. Especially considering she was ahead before the incident happened. Her root even hit the water first.

If It was my only plant I had going at the time and knowing what I know now. I would have start over. Granted she still looked more than decent enough and if I didn't have something next to it to compare it to It wouldn't have been so bad but lol with the beast to the left it was obvious.


Here goes a pic for you at D41. I'm sure you can tell which plant had it's root molested by the pump lol. I ended up cutting the 2nd plant down anyway because the first plant grew so big I couldn't keep both in my 3x3 tent. DWC is really no joke when it comes to size of plant.

And here we go at D56 (4 days ago) 2nd plant is already cut and you can see how the first girl over took tent.

I was trying to remember who it was who was the latest victim of the blown off taproot and it was @Anasazi and that was one of the more pronounced cases I have seen, that was nuts how much the little one stunted
