New Grower Equatorial 2.0

As expected, Kush did not make it. Turned all dark and lifeless. When I pulled her out, the taproot was loose as hell, clinging to nothing.

Looks like I don't get to grow no Kush then!

Sour Hound is stunted for sure. Seems like I have to get one of these each grow. Last grow was my bad but NO WAY I did anything wrong this time. Same exact method for each seeds and the others are all thriving!

Only issue is with these 2 strains out of the 8 strains I have in my stash. My gut feeling tells me that the seeds are probably so old or stored improperly that the embryo is close to being dead.

To further prove my point, I've dropped an Amnesia Haze to make sure the last 3 beans was not my fault. Chose a pale looking seed just cos. Still wont be 100% conclusive but will lean more favorably to my conclusion.

Too sad with Kush and Sour Hound fookin with me, so no mood for pics. Especially since I had to feed the girls too. So moving on to the good part of this update.

After 7 days since last feed, I fed Day 12 Diesel and Lemon as well as Day 9 Purple Mazar with 0.5g per litre MC and 0.25g per litre SC. PH was around 6.4 and PPM around 400++.

I did dim lights down to 110W from 120W. Few hours later and they were praying so I know i hit a sweet spot.

Not a very good start to the grow but that is to be expected with so many new variables being introduced. I however, did not expect seed issues to arise.

Was quite pissed with Seedsman mainly for sending me crap seeds, even though they were freebies. Less with Mephisto cos it was not bought direct. But figured that it will make this grow more exciting, which will help me learn and grow better. Less hate, more love!

The good thing about losing 3 beans and potentially culling a few day old seedling soon, is you reduce more beans in your stash, so that you can buy more sooner! I'll be a much more informed buyer next time!

Thanks for invite bro! Nice line up ya got there. Has the kush and sour sprouted yet? Mephisto's last comp was on gardening tips.. one guy left an unsprouted seed for weeks before it popped up.. so there's hope yet!

The update earlier felt incomplete without pics. So here we go

Sour Hound looks a little better now although small as hell and not growing much. Not typical of a healthy seedling. First sign of trouble for me, was when I see those small, thick and limey green first leaves.

I've had something very similar last grow. Was a combo of hot soil, aeration and overwatering. Took a flush and strong COB lights to save her but at 2++ weeks, was a little late. Yielded well but extremely airy.

This time is nothing of the above. I even took out the soil probe i forgot i had. Soil PH, dampness and temps are the same for all pots. I really want to find a fault of mine. This way, I would've actually learnt something. Instead of losing 3-4 beans for no good reason. At the moment, the best deduction I can come up with is:

A) Old, dead or life hanging by a thread beans that is beyond my skill level to germ.

B) Struggling bean led to a struggling seedling.

If my Amnesia Haze pops and grows normally, it would really confine all my germ issues to that 2 strains only. Then, and only then will I accept that its not me, its just bad beans.

Other girls are doing well. The growth is really good with MC and SC. No sign of nute burn even when I fed at 3-5 days old. The main stem thickness is most impressive.

I ignored them quite a bit with all this germination drama but they still look good. Will be topping/ fimming them soon. Anyone wanna remind me which node to top/fim and how to count the nodes again?

4th or 5th node . And you count the sets of leaves above the cotelydons. And upward .
So the first node is the single true leaf . The second is the 3 finger leaf and so on

Just FIMmed Diesel and Lemon at 5th node. Purple Mazar at 4th node. None of them are even 2 weeks old yet! Did not skip a beat!

Hey dabs! Tent is bare atm, a few weeks and I'll up up and running again. Just got my second cob, a fresh batch of worm castings and some extra nutes.. just need a better fan for my carbon filter and I'll be set! It's never ending the extras you want to buy haha.. I'm watching your grow, and it's looking very nice :smoking:

You should send Seedsman a msg, they are pretty good at helping out when shit goes wrong.. one of my orders went amiss and after getting in contact they were really apologetic and slipped a few extras in.. Another time I had my order opened at the airport (they would've seen the contents).. Seedsman were gonna send me the order again but to my surprise the seeds were still in the package! Someone awesome let them through anyways.. The rest of your ladies are looking great! Noice!

My experience with Seedsman is not that great. Its freebie seeds and my word against theirs. My earlier experience with them would suggest messaging them to be a waste of my time.

I wanted to follow their preference by paying in bitcoins. I needed some clarification cos a certain code can't be found anymore after I navigated away from the page. This was on their site. Not a bitcoin issue. I received NO replies so I can't pay using bitcoin. I used a different method in the end BUT did not get as many freebies. I called them out on that, asking them to check their records to see its not my fault! I SHOULD get those extra freebies. I was ignored and received my order with no bitcoin freebies.

I will not buy from them anymore but unsure of my choices, due to my location. But thats something to worry about much later.
