Hey MOB what’s most plants u have run back to back without dumping soil out? This is my 3rd back to back and def need to dump after this and clean them cuz the boxes are so filled with worm castings they come out the drain hole with the water overflowage or I can pull chunks out Iike this! Can tell diff between soil and castings cuz these are thicker almost gummy consistency and if it comes out drain with water unlike soil that would break down to liquid these will just stay same consistency even in water and not break apart!

Mark looks like soil, note perlite mixed in and worm castings I think would be darker?

Earthbox grows do not exhibit overwatering symptoms - soil is always at 95-105 millibars, depending on where I test - so I’m not sure that is the reason .....Earthbox also advises add a pound per box ..... I only added about 2-3 ounces per .... I also sprinkled in some oyster shells as @TxRebel/Mark did and some crush cleaned egg shells, both which take time to break down .....

Both girls seems to be fine .... original box plant seems to have a little nitro burn on the leaf tips while the junior plant seems to be doing just fine but both I hope both yield well .... in about 6 weeks we will know .....

As for checking PH of water or soil, I don’t do that nor do I really care - I have tested my water and soil in the past and the tests always seem to be in the correct range, when growing with organics I am not even concerned - if we had any rain, I would use rain water but this grow is all tap water thus far it seems to be working just fine .....

I LOVE to grow anything - Watermelon or Hot Peppers anyone?
Thanks for the input MOB! I think I'm gonna ask Earthbox why they want THAT much in in a regular box.

I've grown all kinds of veggies. At my old farm, my regular garden was just over 2acs. I got real good at canning! LOL! Even built a old fashioned root cellar. I took two years of growing various cover crops before growing food crops and still grew winter cover crops until I sold the farm. I was doing that in the early 90s, well before the current soil and fertilizer conservation programs gaining popularity in the Midwest larger farmers. I wish I had the info they have now with the mixes of cover crop they use now.
Visited my old neighbor this summer. The new owner incorporated my old garden area into my old costal bermuda hay field. While bother were great, you could PLAINLY see where my garden was. Made a tear come to my eyes.

Flower Power ...... 4 1/2 weeks - lots of Bud sites

Hard work, I would be bummed too ..... You sound a lot like me, love building-up garden soil .... Way back when my kid took a worm from the garden to school for show and tell - darn thing was as big as a snake!
