So this was Day 28 I kinda forgot to post it here.
Ladies are recovering from a cal/mag deficiency. I am using MegaCrop 1 part nutrients and I was under the impression it had plenty of calcium and magnesium in it. So I was only adding cal/mag every other feeding. And they got a bit deficient. But new growth is looking good. And for some reason the one plant is drooping more than the other. I have only been feeding 550 ppm once a day until runnoff. Ill think they will recover just fine.View attachment 1722263View attachment 1722264View attachment 1722265
I'm also using MegaCrop 1-part in coco/perlite, but mine stayed green, with no extra CalMag or other supplements. I'm following the feed schedule at GreenLeafNutrients, but dosing a little less than their recommendation. I started out at 1.5 g/GL as a seedling (grams per gallon). By day 21 I was dosing at 3.5 g/GL. The vendor feed schedule recommends finishing at 6 g/GL, but my last grow I stopped increasing at 5 g/GL, around day 50, and added 1 g/GL of kelp extract from then to the end. I liked the results, so I plan to do that again. Somebody said photos are hungrier than autos? Maybe the extra CalMag was locking out Nitrogen? It's all voodoo to me, which is why I stick close to the vendor recommendations.

The whole “Photos are hungrier than Autos” thing is a complete farce in my opinion. I have had photoperiod plants that could take 100% feed, and others that wanted nothing but water and a little PK in the end. Im just getting into autos, and have already grown multiple auto strains that feed like monsters! Others that just wanna stay around 25%feed and thats it. I really believe its just strain dependent. I have grown both photos and autos that would make me sound like a liar if i said it lol. Its just genetics. The only big difference that i have seen between the two types of plants, besides how they trigger flowering, is that autos require a little more care in the beginning, susceptible to stunting. I am only speaking from personal experience and these are obviously my opinions. But i really do think that a blanket statement like that can lead to a lot of people who dont know any better to make mistakes. Its like saying all indicas make you tired and all sativas are racey. When we all know now that all that is determined by terpenes. I try to take each new strain i grow and look at it as an individual, whenever i make assumptions when growing it usually causes more harm than good. Quick example, someone tells you a strain is calmag hungry, so before you see any calmag deficiencies you blast it with calmag in a pre-emptive strike. Chances are, the N amd extra CalMag will cause a lockout of potassium and now you are in a worse spot than when you started. Ive done that, i like to think i have learned from it lol. Sorry for rattling your ears off haha.❤️🙏🌱
Edit: whenever i start with a new strain, i start feeding super light and slowly(weekly)work my way up, if i see no signs of burning i keep pushing it. I usually stop around 50-75% recommended strength. But if i see burning in the tips i ease back on the nutes. I never assume a strain will respond a certain way, there are way to many determining factors and phenos to expect my plants to respond like anybody elses.

Day 42
Ladies are looking strong 💪.
I am going to flip to flower in 3 days. These girls were hungry. 20250101_041101.jpg20250101_041107.jpg20250101_041120.jpg20250101_041139.jpg

I wasn't feeding Cal/Mag every day. And when I started to use Cal/Mag once a day they responded like they needed it. But I could be completely wrong. @KingRatt said it looked like a Nitrogen deficiency and that's probably what it was. They also had purple stems and the lower leaves had what looked to me like a Cal/Mag deficiency. I could be completely wrong. I am still learning. Making mistakes makes you a better grower in the long run.

I just wasn't feeding them enough. :toke: :greenthumb::coffee2::bighug:
