Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

Still wet then, can bend to a U and no sign of breaking, may have to rest the box on my screen and get one of the heaters going

Thanks Piggy

Thanks piggy i always hung mine til they were "almost to the snap" before jarring, and then regular burp. I really want to try the bag method after reading this thread. Only thing i as is.....What is the odor in the room like with everything bagged up? I usually dry in the tent with the fan and filter running. Im trying to have seedlings ready for tent AT harvest so i cant run 4-5 days of dark. If i bagged things up and placed in closet with some airflow, how much extra odor control will i need for those 4-5 days?

Odor can be strong at times bro... If stealth is a problem you could try double bagging it.. But it will smell especially if your bud is strong smelling to start with....
I have put the bags in my grow tent before now to help with the smell.....

Are those brown paper lunch bags good to use?

They are but they might be a little small.

Hi fellow members.
I've been reading in here for quite a long time but have not yet written anything...well, that has changed now. I just wanted to ask two questions: First of all, do I need ventilation if I put the buds in such a bag in a room which is about 6 squaremeters big? I mean, I will let air get into the room (it's a small, new-built shack) some time, but overall, is it necessary to have a fan?
In addition, I would like to put the buds directly in the brown bags like TaNg does, I will, of course, remove all leaves and do the manicure before I put them in and break them down so they are not too big. Do I risk mold if I do it like this? In addition, how much should I give in a bag? Would 15 grams per bag be too much (If the bag is a normal lunch bag for example).
Any answers and/or help would be really appreciated.
Best regards,
Gaskopf

Im drying 4g wet buds with this method, do you guys think that it would be overkill to have it in the bag for 4-5 days? I dont want the buds to disappear !:smokeit:

So I haven't seen an actual write up on this method, but after reading this thread im guessing it goes like this...break down colas to small buds and trim, then thinly line the bottom of a large brown paper sack, roll down sack half way, then put the bag(s) in a cardboard box and shut, leave for 4-7 days and when the stem in the middle almost snaps you jar it up and start your cure. Sound right?

post #47 in this thread.. There is a link to 82 pages of info on this method

What if you dont put the bags in a cardboard box? Also are we talking about making multiple folds to shut it or just one big fold and clamping it?
