Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

Gonna be using this method to dry my first grow, does anyone have an "ideal" humidity level for A. the cardboard box that hold the bags, and B. The grow tent which the box is in? Thanks :peace:

my method

I hang the whole plant for a couple days without a fan, then cut and trim, then into a bag for a while, rolled down almost tight, opening and rearranging a few times a day at first, then less, then into the jar, with less burping than usual. It is quick, and doesn't seem to affect the potency in the end. The bag appeal, smell, and taste suffer, but fortunately I care not a whit about those things. :toke:

Couple questions that I couldn't find a direct answer too. Gonna use this method on my first grow that I'm about to harvest any day now and don't want to mess it up now. I apologize if these are dumb questions (prob are) or been answered already.

1. When using the 10% rule, should it based off the RH% reading from A) inside the bag, B) inside the box (outside the bag) or C) the room the box and bag are located?
2. Should the bag be "burped"?

Thanks

Hi Vapeo

1. The RH% reading should be done outside the bag. for example my reading inside my cab was 50% RH,and it did actually take 6 days to dry in the bags before it was jarrable.
2. I gave my bags a little shake to move the buds around every coupe of days.

All the best!

The process seems simple enough but if time isn't an issue, and the best flavour/ smell is key then do people still suggest brown bag method, or keep to the longer hanging and jarring?

I don't want to hinder the taste or aroma at all! quite confused when I hear people say they don't mind lol, each to their own :D

Hanging and Bagging take roughly the same time (well have for me anyway).

I got my best results to date on my first trial on brown paper bagging, so in my opinion - it's a winner! :)

Cheers yea thought that was the conclusion, just checking

peez :peace:

I would like to try this for my current grow that is about 1 week from chop. Guess i could always go to the local kroger and buy some of the big paper bags from them. Havent found anything other than tiny lunch bags except for online and dont feel like having to wait for anything to be shipped to me. I would always hang until the stalk would "snap" and then jar. Would be nice to have a jarring effect a few days earlier than regular.

thanks for the answers blue Thank You

Not sure why but only took abt 4.0 days for mine to dry with an avg RH% around 55%. Only drying around 10 gms though. Had to move them around to different spots for various reasons.

At 3.5 days, stems started getting snappy so I jarred 'em up before bed last night. Hygro read 71% this morning so took 'em back out of the jar. Will toss them back in at noon which will be the 4 day mark. I suspect they will be ready for the cure at that point. Amazing how the smell returned after only 8 hrs in the jar tho Holy Moly
