Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

I posted recently about final jar humidity, sorry if it was here...lol... But i never dry bud until its Bone dry... 55% rh is good if your looking to store your buds, by the time you hit them numbers your bud is completely dry....

I like to jar mine between 60-65%.... Buds are firm but theres a little bend to the stalk, jars are then burped every 1-2 hours for a couple of days then a few time a week.....
Guys i cant stress how important it is to keep the jars burped, also take your bud out of the jar and turn it around.... Soooo easy to get Powdery Mildew but a few simple steps helps.....

Ah ok mate cheers it's reading around 65% humidity in my shed at min.

Any reason why you can't put the hygrometer in the bag? Just thought it would give a really accurate reading?

Cheers

Really the humidity isn't a way to tell wether it's dry or not then.... It's more to tell u roughly how long?

Surely putting it in the bag and watching the RH drop would be good?

I dont think in a brown bag you are getting acturate readings imo because it really depends on the surroundings of the bag (humidity that is) is able to travel to and from the bag freely not like a jar where the bud is the only thing givivng the reading not the the elements surrounding it.

Drying in a brown bag in a cool place is better than the time i left it outside and the suns heat got ahold of it....so i would say in a brown bag in a cool dark place it works fine....hanging it isnt always the best.....i do like it in a box hung on string in the dark the best though

I agree you do not want rapid drying i prefer as you mentioned^ a carboard box then it is a little bit slower process instead of the bag. The bag works great if you have ideal conditions (cool, low air movement, and usally darkness goes along with the first 2), but conditions are not always ideal.

lol... I dont check the RH until i think they are dry enough to jar.... From experience i know roughly how many days it takes my bud to dry... Even got it down too seasons as well....
This time of year its dry in 4 - 6 days.... But we also have to remember that here is only everybodys opinion... We all have our little twists.....:smokebuds:

Mine is i hang my bags in the tent :jaw: and have done for more than 2 years.... If i lose anything i dont notice..... Evil Laugh x

Great thread you guys. I will so try this with my harvest that will come this weekend.

We dont have them brown bags in our stores only colored ones with printing on the outside of them, will this bags dont work then?

I can buy brown ones online whitin my country and the bag that are the biggest is 11cm x 18cm x 26cm or in inches for you strange dudes, lol 4.3 x 7 x 10.2 is that big enough or should i try harder and get bigger bags....?
