Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

i've read that you need to keep the jarred buds at 55% to 60% for the cure. when it goes under 55% it is too dry and curing process is over and can't be brought back, above 60% is still moist and needs to be burped. i'm still trying to get the curing part down and it is the hardest part for me. please correct me if i'm wrong, i don't want to lead anyone in the wrong direction. peace :peace:

It always boggles my mind, when people grow, harvest, dry...and think that`s it! Oh no m`old fruit pastille... only half way through the job:D That fine herb that you`re after, you need to think...Do I want Beaujolais Noveau, or Chateau Petrus? I know which I`d rather poison m`liver with!

Cedar

:peace: You might like adding some .....Aromatic Cedar Chips.... for your bag cure or use a cedar humidor.

I liked it

Nice BJ.... I have a friend who adds dried orange peel to his bags... He thinks it adds something to the taste... I didnt notice it when i tried his bud....

HI NWS,
I have tried the orange peels too , they only seem to ad a little bag aroma. I think that started years ago , we used to keep one in a baggie to keep the kind buds from drying out.

The cedar humidors do however add a most desirable sweet flavor if left to age a bit.

Were old timers and maybe old fashioned tastes, out in Ca we tried lots of deluxe flavors that reminded me of herbal fruited tea , but our grow (dirt) always seemed earthy and a bit sweet ( from the indica ) in cardboard boxes and grocer bags.

So has anyone tried the paper bag with shredded lunch sack method as posted above?

Read through the thread again and still not sure how dry the buds should be before jarring? only time scales given
How should the buds feel if squeezed? break up? or still feel spongy? If I go by what I pay for my bud is still wet
Should it be as dry as it should be before jarring? or still a little moist

when the stem in the middle of the bud snaps is what I go by. I try to get them in the jar right before it snaps or right on the dry point where it can't decide to bend or snap, but leans towards the snap.
