Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

Hey...I read another guy that's exactly what he uses. I use similar yard waste bags that come from Cannadian Tire. They worked great and smells are excellent this season! I was laying them flat, so I could fit a little more in each bag. The Durban Poison I harvested filled 15 bags similar to this one.

Nice. I've never tried the brown bag menthod before. So thought these might work well. I'm gonna give it a try with my upcoming harvest..

Any tips to pass on before I start ?

I found that going straight from chop to the bag ended up forming flat sides on the buds.
As far as I can tell it doesn't hurt a thing other than appearance.

The last two plants I took down I hung the branches to air dry for a couple of days, then finished drying in the bags. All the benefits of drying in a bag and no flat spots (-:

I see, well thanks again. Now I had planed to move the buds around in the bags ever day or so maybe shake the bag a bit. Did you just let them be in the bag whole time ? Would it be bad to shake them around in the bag ?

@912GreenSkell Definitely worth to try ;) i say many times this... i grow over 100 different autoflower strains but mephisto its my new first choice !

Cut down a few autos from my first grow on Monday and decided to wet trim and dry in a brown bag, broke the buds down to golf size or smaller buds and set them in my grow tent to dry. Left two oscillating fans at the bottom of the tent going and lefty carbon filter and fan going at 20% speed. After 3 days the buds seem really dry when I opened a bag this morning and the humidity inside the bag has dropped down to 18% should I be tossing them in jars now or wait the full 5 days

I would toss them in jars. Better safe than sorry. If they are too wet, moisture from stems will redistribute to the flowers (I usually do this anyway), then you can put back in bags. I personally don't use fans. Mine take roughly 7 days.
Do you have a small hygrometer for jars?
