Indoor Copacabana, Muay Thai, Love Potion LED tent grow

Thanks for that, I wasn't familiar with that product, I see it's got a bacteria strain in it.

I need to pow-wow with a buddy of mine here in Oregon before the year is out and pick his brain on these matters,

the mold I did experience was pretty slight compared to the caterpillars. The nights were very cold and humid at the end,

I'm pretty lucky to get away with the grow as is.

hey man, nice grow. All in all what did you think of the super autos? I have to say i'm very excited about the ones i have running, especially the panama lime, but i was also thinking of muay tai and copacabana. Were they as advertised? Are they worth it?

@moutros , the super autos did well for me, they do great in grams per day of time in total, the yields were like 9 and 10 oz for me this run.

I really liked Muay Thai, for me is exactly what I like. I was happy I let it mature a little beyond the harvest window so it is stimulating but no problem to medicate with it before sleep.

I was disappointed with Copacabana. It is advertised as good day or night. ... I think, yeah, night if you're going out clubbing at Copacabana beach, lol, that stuff was like drinking a couple double shots of espresso. Long lasting effect too--I couldn't really stand it. I still have some jars of it that I'll never smoke, I think I've only smoked it twice in the last 6 months. Just not my cup of tea. The Thai on the other hand, it's a favorite.

The Copa was also a bit susceptible to mold, whereas the Thai is not.

Awesome grow!

Here's a couple shots of the Copacabana, today would be start of day 109, she's going to get the axe tonight. :amazon:

It's difficult to get the whole plant into one frame as there are nice buds on all sides. :baked:

It feels great to get this far successfully and without any major rot or bugs.

The Devil Cream has bag dried for almost 6 days and went into jars to continue curing. The bags were so nice and fruity smelling when shaken. One early tester from the bag so far, very good effect, nice balance of head and body.

Muay Thai is still cookin' along, she's in her dark cycle now but I'll try and get some photos up later. No sign of any further rot, I had removed anything that looked questionable and she seems fine. The resin on her smells like straight, sweet incense and the early testers have been very favorable.

Thanks again for looking in, and thanks again for all the likes, compliments and rep, guys. :passit:

Thanks, pop22, I was very happy with the results and learned a lot. In the end I yielded more than I expected. Now I'm concentrating on quality and flavor, and experimenting with organic style growing to see what the differences in flavor and smoothness might be.

Thanks again for checking out the show, and thanks for the rep!

Hey Mediscrog. As I mentioned to you, I've got a couple Copacabanas just starting to flower.

I've been looking for any information on how I can "mellow" the high by growing techniques, fertilizing, harvesting, curing, etc.
Aging seems to be another way to achieve an end product I can enjoy. Here is something I found posted by motaco on another forum...

HARVESTING- CURING- AGING
Wait until she's ripe. It's really silly to grow a plant that flowers so long and harvest it when the stone is mild and undeveloped. Contrary to what you may have heard sativas should be harvested with the same amount of red hairs and color trichs as they look on any of your other plants. My personal harvest time is this. I am in love with what I call "mirror head" trichomes. When they turn from clear to amber there is a transition where they reflect sunlight like a mirror. When as many of them as possible are mirror I catch them before they decay to amber. They layout tends to be about 1/4 amber. half mirror, and 1/4 still semi clear. Thats when I like them.
Sativas usually have pretty airy buds that dry out pretty quick when chopped and hung upside down. The faster weed dries the harsher it smokes and the greener it tastes. So you don't want to cut it up into buds you want to hang it whole. Cut above the roots or a few inches below the first bud node. The large stem will help slow drying. Once you've slow dried the cure process is the same as it is with any other bud. Brown bag it, don't let it dry out, don't rough handle. Some sativas tend to smoke a little hotter than hybrids so its really important you don't do anything to make the smoke any harsher than it has to be.
The next thing that is heavily overlooked is aging. Sativas really smoke best when cured for six months or longer. A nice aging process really takes the edge off the stone and makes it much more enjoyable. Many sativas as I said earlier smoke a little rougher than baby face indoor plants like sensi star or something. A nice age will knock off alot of the harshness from the smoke if it was there to begin with. Though the main advantage to aging is not to cure the smoke, it's to cure the high. Many pure sativas are racy and edgy and can produce an unpleasant stone. Given enough time for the trichomes to age and mature the same strain can become very enjoyable and upbeat.

My copacabanas look a bit behind where yours were at this age. Possibly from our cool spring as they've been outside for the past six weeks. I'm also going very light on the fertilizer, just a bit of fish and kelp and some aerated compost teas. My phenos also seem to have a bit thinner leaves, one has nine finger leaves and the other seven.

Hell yeah, my brother, those look awesome man. I scrogged mine for the first while so the profile looks different, but dude I'd say you've got a couple nice size plants there. I don't see much flower yet either, I assume they're still adding some height? Awesome! I like the leaf variation as well.

Thanks for pasting that article about aging and sativas, I think that's good info. I do think the high mellows over time. Heck, I'll have to pull that jar out again and have a taste and see what's going on.

I didn't really scope mine before harvest. The smell had changed and they were getting ripe, but it was October already and the weather went straight foul like the flip of a switch, otherwise I would have continued to delay the harvest I think.

I hope yours turn out great, and to your satisfaction. Feel free to update some nice pics here down the road and let us know about your experience with them. We're getting closer again to the good weather so you should have some ideal conditions for flowering soon. :slap:

I will update as I just ordered a replacement battery for my camera so I should be able to keep a record of growth.

Ahh, you scrogged early. Mine are much more "Christmas tree." I also pruned off inner nodes on some bottom branches. Those bottom branches had me worried early on as they were quite long and spindly. I bent them back and forth, up and down for a while and they're getting much better.

I think I was mistaken saying my leaves are thinner. Looking back at your copas at a similar age, my plant on the left has similar leaf structure. No real significant pistil pushing of full flower yet and I'm at day 66. I think they are still stretching but I'm so bad at noticing growth day to day.

That cut and paste above is just a snippet of something called "Revival of the Ultimate Sativa GROW Thread." I don't know how accurate that info is but the guy seems quite humble and knowledgeable. It's on another grow forum and I don't want to piss anyone off but if you google that title you'll find it. There are pages and pages of info and actually more than one version. It is well worth looking at for tons of information and some beautiful pictures.

Yes, I remember last October. I had to throw away a fair amount of some Erdpurt due to catterpillars and mold. Actually, about twenty minutes after I took the above photo the copas got pummelled by a good little hail storm. It is still quite cool and wet up here in Portland.

I'll post a picture of my Erdpurt from last year...

Beautiful stuff, bro. I imagine your Copas should begin flowering soon. Been cold in Oregon this week but should start turning around by the weekend. Good luck and have fun with them.

Hey @squatty , this buds for you, I broke out the Copacabana for a new smoke test today. You too, @moutros

Here's a couple bud pics

Well, it's really the same as before, not much racy quality to it, but there's no body at all, just feel it from the neck up. It does not relieve stress or tension, or lower blood pressure, so I felt just real awake and unrelaxed (therefore unhappy ).

Initial high took about 15 to 20 minutes for full effect, lasted an hour and a half, but after the peak I still feel it for several hours, it's been 6 hours and I still feel it there. I didn't smoke anything else today so I could properly evaluate the effect. I'm gonna go smoke some indica as soon as this report is done.

I felt focused and could have sat and done desk work or heavy reading. I would have appeared sober. Whereas the Thai gets the creative brain going and I find my sense of humor with ease, I feel very uninspired with this bud, awake but not jazzed at all.

Because I have stress, pain, and high blood pressure, as well as difficulty sleeping, this strain misfires for me at every level.

My only thought now would be to mix it with indica dom flowers for a mixed salad. Or, potentially following a joint of this with a couple hits of high CBD weed like Cannatonic, The Remedy, or whatever is around, and see if it changes the high for the better. That's what I would do if I had to smoke these buds. Fortunately I still have some of the other strains left from the harvest, and a new crop finishing soon, so I don't really have any need of these and will toss them if I get near my possession limit. Just no appeal for me, but I'm sure they'd work better for someone with different chemistry.
