I think the hardest thing with them (osmocote tech stuff) is that they're sorta unpredictable in how they break down to the average user as they stand. And then throwing an unpredictable plant like an auto, that can vary wildly plant to plant in how it's life stages go, into the mix makes it even more difficult. If not impossible, other than a lucky roll of the dice.
I seem to recall these being marketed to "beginners" when they were first mentioned. I do not know if that is still the case, but I did find that terminology disappointing, if I'm being honest. As well as autoflowers in general being for beginners. I think we all know how that goes.
I cut my teeth growing photos and you could time the growth to map it out better with them. But I feel like I have no control really. If I am taking the time and expense to grow to the best of my abilities, I want precise control. If shit goes sideways, then it is on me, and at least I steered it into oblivion. If that makes sense.
I'm not bashing DGC/ Real Growers. Much. And I'm happy that you're doing this. I know you are a well experienced grower and I have been rooting for you. Hopefully you can turn it around and make it salvagable.
