Happy new year everyone from the whole Dutch Passion team.
Well, then there was one remaining plant. Seymour, you were right to select the plant that took the most feed and had the best root system.
I have to say she the remaining girl is looking absolutely amazing, and with the grow room to herself and 2 LED arrays on her she will thrive. My hope is for a 200 gram dry yield, but maybe I have my expectations clouded by a certain amount of bias, maybe 150gram would be a more realistic expectation. The interesting aspect of this strain is not just the yield (though of course yield is a vital aspect for the people that buy our seeds) it is also the potency. Our tests put this ‘Think Different’ variety at 18% THC and on a potency level with some iconic traditional strains. So a good cure of the finished bud, and a smoke report 2-3 months after harvest will be really interesting.
For Dutch Passion, and I guess numerous other people, this grow is obviously fascinating. Think Different is the culmination of 5 years of effort into AutoFem’s for us. In that time we have seen them progress from something of a curiosity into a genuinely credible alternative to traditional photoperiod strains. People that were once highly sceptical of the AutoFem concept now grow them and get speed and a production level unlike anything they have seen or expected.
One trend we are picking up in Dutch Passion is the number of people that are looking to AutoFem’s for an outdoor countryside or back-garden grow. A plant that can stay low in height, is easy to hide, and can finish in 10 weeks is actually a PERFECT solution for outdoor (‘guerrilla’)growers. It is also a real blessing forthose that live in countries with short summers – suddenly there is an alternative to indoor growing.
One of the biggest challenges for guerrilla growers using traditional photoperiod varieties is being able to find a safe outdoorgrow-spot that will remain uncompromised for the 5-6 months that a traditional outdoor strain takes. In fact, that specific issue was one of the driving forces behind people moving to indoor growing in the first place. I am sure that AutoFem’s will become a major ally of outdoor guerrilla growers. Google Earth will be getting plenty of action as thousands of new outdoor growers start looking for some suitable plots to plant a few AutoFem’s for the first time.
You don’t need my advice on how to judge the nutrient regime, you read the plants like a pro and get the same results as a pro. You must have some Dutch ancestry somewhere down the line !
Keep it up Seymour man, this is great to see.
