RocBud Auto Grape Slurri in Sohum Living Soil

Coming along nicely @20/4 .. I'm also interested in this Sohum Living Soil, have you previous experience with it?, are you planning to add anything to the soil at all?..and it looks like it has perlite, would you say it's quite an 'airy' soil? (which I prefer).

Appreciate the kind words! I have no previous experiences with sohum. I had previously always used Fox farms ocean Forrest blend and had pretty decent results. My last grow I had a few issues, salt/ph related (acidic soil) and he local grow shop was out so I decided to "upgrade" to a living soil. The "just add water" part appealed to me as well as "feeding the soil instead of the plant".

So what I did was filled up my pots with sohum and had a spot in the middle the size of a solo cup in which I filled with happy frog. Even doing that the plants seem to be getting too much nitrogen. I've seen people mix sohum with coco so I may give that a shot next time not sure. I also suspect I may have been giving them too much water in the beginning causing them to uptake too much nitrogen. New soil requires new watering habits and I'm still adjusting. I've started doing a fully bottom water/feed and plan on doing that the rest of the way through to avoid washing out all of the nutrients in the soil.

The soil itself is super super airy. A bag is surprisingly light when compared to typical soil mixes. The only thing I've used to far is recharge(twice) and rain water. Today I gave them the very first regiment of "fish sh!t". Those two seem to be highly reccomended for living soil grows(to keep the soil alive) but aren't necessary from what I can gather.

Thank you for the detailed reply..I might check it out for sure

Will you be adding anything for the flowering phase? (aside from the two you mentioned).

I'll definitely be following along to see how you go.

As of now, I don't plan on it. May need calmag later on but as far as I know everything should be in the soil the plant will need to finish. Maybe molasses in late flower..:growing:

Day 26

Starting to stretch even more! Trying to keep them 2 ft or under due to cab height

Day 33
Moving along great. They are all progressing differently but it seems the smaller ones are catching up slowly. The one on the left may never reach it's full potential but we shall see! I'm assuming the slower/smaller growth is due too the over dose of nitrogen. They seem to be growing out of as I'm not seeing much clawing anymore...

Also trichs are starting to form. They definitely have a skunky smell to them nothing too intense yet..
