I too would like to see their other products. You have a point overall. but Drawing attention to this post is about drawing in other new people. I hope the Auto Pot guys put in a little input, but I'll settle for now for them even considering sponsoring AFN. I think they are still nervous about dealing with cannabis. As an established business, I can understand them taking a "dipping your toe in the waters" approach. Maybe, we, the members can convince them to be more active. We build the site by being active. Hopefully our enthusiasm for auto pots will be noticed by them.

Its ok if they are hashing whats old ground to us. I plan to hang out in the thread a bit, lend a hand when I can. Who know what interesting thing or event may pop up!

What I said was that has already be done to death on this board. There are 8500 posts on the autpots board. Many of them are from threads about a persons first time using the product. Or first posts are questions from people considering the product, then they buy it and come back and post a grow journal. Its been done to death bro. If you honestly think we need 12 new test threads on new autopot first time usages, when we already have lots of this, then maybe I suck at explaining this. What we really need, and autopots should be thinking about this instead of sending out 12 1-pot kits out to 12 people is get some of the others here who know the base products testing out some of the other products that might be great but don't have much press on the net yet. Like coco mats, Aquabox, Smart Pots, Easy2Propogate etc. That is what they should be thinking about IMO.

Seems to me you contradicted yourself. Whats the most common mistake new growers make??? Over watering. And how can that affect your grow? Possibly screw it up royally? Now you still need to get a seed or a clone to the point where you can transplant it, or get a seed planted direct to the point you can turn on the res. So there is still a window for problems. But, once your on the res your watering issues are over. Don't you think for some people, that's going to be a big improvement? Not everyone has the knack for pulling off all the complicated crap growers do. Show them a system that with a little effort to get going can let them have a good grow and you'll have a grower that's both happy and satisfied. I've grown my biggest plants in auto pots, except one in a 15 gallon pot! I've tried air pots and smart pots, and they just don't fit my style of growing, so, when put in context, it is possible to grow bigger, better plants in auto pots, because they may just fit some growers better.

No need to get contentious about this. Lets just help the new guys truly have their best grow ever, its a team effort!

I doubt you'll notice any growth difference in a test but I could be wrong. Autopots on their own don't add much to the quality of what you are growing IMO. If you take 2 15 liter pots and one is regular and one is autopots and you take the same cutting and grow it out I just cant see there being any difference. What autopots do is make watering easier for the grower. And maybe easier is just part of it. The aquavalve and the wicking action in effect means watering is more consistent with autopots. Would that in itself make your plants better? Maybe. But is it mind blowing? I doubt it. Maybe if you suck really badly at hand watering in the first place.

I bought autopots when I realized I was overwatering early on in my growing. They did the job. And I can go away for days and not worry about watering.

This is right off the home page of their site. There is not one mention of their product making growth any better than what you already do.

I am grateful to afn, ie the people here who help one another. To me, the knowledge shared by members goes far beyond all that encompasses growing.
Further, i appreciate all members opinions/viewpoints, not that i must agree with them . This is only one of the many benefits this plant has provided me. "Openess & Coexistence"

I am thankful that autopots donated their system for "testing" and have changed their stand on cannabis.

Im my opinion, the caveats one should keep in mind if my perceptions are correct, are the pots are being used by people who are very good/excellent growers. These experienced growers have "ironed out" other many factors that effect their grows, e.g. genetics, mediums, pots, nutrients, lights, temps, rh, and the list goes on and on. Above all, these are "ever changing constants" that change from grow to grow no matter how we try to hold them consistently the same.
It is my belief, to truely "test" one must hold all variables the same while changeing only one variable. In this "game" of growing it is impossible for the home grower. For example, seeds of the same strain have different phenos.
My concern is that a new grower who sees autopot grows from the testers keeps this in mind and the autopot may not be the "magic bullet" to a successful result.

It is my understanding, that one member suggested from their experiences and others, autopots hold watering as a constant and this has been shown in the autopot forums over and over again and therefore variants to use autopots in other methodologies may be of more value, e.g. using fabric pots or larger trays for easy2go. I welcome this suggestion and hope that some testers do the same.
In the meantime, bone up!:pass:

Being a contributor to the site, keeping the afn vibe, helping others and spending a lot of time on the site helps to become a tester.

This is for the Company, who wants their products showcased in a single thread. I'm not sure why people seem to think there is something wrong with this and it isn't necessary.
