Looking wicked SB!!! didnt realze they were all fem??<the dont have reg seeds for this strain??? plants are dead on where they supposed to be @ this stage.....I'm so loving this!!! cant wait to see how this areo works out for ya! trust me, you will have a lot of people lookin/following.....some great karma being sent your way!!!! Hurry up and get that second light!! OH! as far as PH, it is the MOST important thing you can do for your plants, TRUST ME! If you can why dont you get one of those GH liquid ph test kits...they normally go for $8-10 bucks USD....Trust me, THEY WORK! it's what im using now!!! I had to send off my $200 hanna pen for servicing and this is the only thing that ive been using till I get it back. hope that helps, one love.....

I will be experimenting with a few non fem strains next go round so that I can find something I like and can grow whenever I'd like instead of otherwise dropping $430 each grow for a fresh batch of fem seeds.

I was thinking though, Would it be possible to have a plant herm, separate it from the rest, then harvest seeds when ready? That's the only theory that I could come up with to save money on seeds with this strain, and others alike.
Yes I have the same prob I like sweet seeds but they are a pain as only come in fem there is a way around it but its not simple and will take quite a few seed runs to bring the strain back to the original
If I was you id set up a small closet with some cfls or if you can afford it a small led and do a seed run on something reliable like mi5 which come in standard you could achieve this with half the amount of money you would be paying for the next batch of seeds and have enough to last many grows
good luck

damn bro, looks like you dropped some serious cash on your setup.you know what they say,if your going to do it,then do it right!nice job bro!subbed

I did a thorough search for non-fem seeds and came up with nothing. Oh well, I am dying to try a few other strains that will allow me to do reg seeds, thus saving me $$$.

As far as the PH, I check it constantly throughout the day. If it falls below 5.75 or above 5.85, I promptly correct it.

Another thing I'd like to invest in for future grows that isn't necessarily a necessity is a water chiller. There is more oxygen available for the root zone with cooler temps along with less of a chance for algae growth. I am within the threshold right now though so I am not worrying about it. Then again though, If I plan on doing a summer grow, it will def be required.

Thanks for the tip though on the ph test kits, I'll def look into that.

Once I get this grow under my belt, thats def on my agenda next.

Oh yea, quite the pretty penny but even like you said, I wanted to make sure I did it right the first time with little to no margin of equipment error. This is all riding on me applying everything that I've read over the last 5-6 months straight without messing anything up, which is less forgiving with aero than soil. I am realizing now though that no matter how much you plan or read, it will never replace the experience of actually doing it.

Day 16 - Quick update

Everything is looking great. One thing that I have noticed is that my plants are low and squat, unlike some other grow journals I view that are stretched and lanky looking. I'm guessing that its due to the LED?

Daily stats

Air temp - 73-79
Water temp - 72-76
PH - 5.75 - 5.85
Humidity - 44-68%
Light Cycle - 19 on / 5 off

Attached are pics of my biggest and smallest ladies.

Hey guys there are two ways to go and I like them both cause they give you good results. the problem is that they are both a lot of work.

Methos 1 is to breed your femmed seed to some other auto male. Just pick a male of a type you like that is roughly the same size as the plant you are trying to breed too. This keeps the phenos down. Grow out what you get. Take the best male and breed it back to the original female type you started with. Once you do this 3 times you will be very close to the original type you wanted to get seeds from. If it isn't what you want then just do it again.

Method 2 can be the second step of method one to get yourself femmed seeds or you can start with the original femmed seeds that you want to make seeds from. Take 2 phenos of the type you like and plant them in 1/2 gallon pots. Take one of the females as she starts to show sex and move her under a light by herself. Stick with the 20/4 light timing if possible. Keep feeding her with your usual nuits. Spray her with colloidal silver water. The silver colloidal strength you need is 200 ppm or greater. The stuff you get at the health food store is about 50 to 100 parts per million and I couldn't get it pistolise the female. Give it three applications of about 2 0z each of the solution seperated by a week. Of the ten I have done 9 produced stamens. Once it is showing stamens move the second plant you have chosen in mith the staminised female and let them do their thing. The seeds you get off will be femmanised and you will have a good cheap supply of seeds. A lot of people don't like us doing this trick to get our own supply of femmanised seeds. I can tell you from my own experience a medium sized auto will produce more than 200 seeds. They are much the same as the seeds yo0u get from a seed company and work well for me. Good luck with your efforts.

How high above the plants do you have your light? Like many others I made the mistake of having mine too low my first grow and my plants didn't get very big. I would recommend you set it between 18 - 24" during veg and then lower it to 12 - 16" during flower. During veg raise or lower it to keep your node spacing at around 1".

Muddy, light is currently at 20" from canopy.

yes I think that's a good height I was keeping mine at about 15" and the node spacing was way to close within 24 hours I was seeing a vast improvement in their upward growth you live and learn huh
I'm very interested in this aero set up If I had the cash I would be bang on for it I love hydro
tell me If you were growing non fem seeds is it much of a problem to pull the males out of the setup without stressing the other plants ?
more photos please :)
keep it up growing that is

Having some issues with leaf color and brown/black spots

So everything has been going well up until two days ago. The root systems are developing rapidly and they seem to grow at least an inch a day.

However, they are starting to show signs of stress or some type of nutrient/ph problem. If anyone could let me know what is going on here it would be much appreciated.

PH 5.77
Temp: 79 degrees
Foliar Spraying twice daily

Images are attached. It looks like rust spots. I did some searching and I think it could be PH, but everything seems to be perfect right now. The leaves also seem to curl and have a slight yellow tint on some of them where the spots are showing. Please someone come forward with some advice, Thanks!
