Indoor A 2x4 And Nothing More

Day 24: MS
Roots have reached the bottom of the pot and she is starting to go buck wild. Training continues with wires being adjusted every 12 hours. Shade cloth installed to maintain an even DLI over entire canopy. Presently DLI is 18 to 20 and light is on 20 hours.

Day 28: MS
Day 21: Ripley
Training continues with MS and has started with Ripley. Ripley was top dressed and watered in. I track my watering with a spreadsheet. I drilled holes in the bottom of the pots for increased uptake when bottom watering as well as aeration. Ripley is currently drinking 4 pints of water, one being placed in the drip tray and three on top.

Day 30: MS
Doing my morning adjustment and moved the wire outside of the two small branches. Started stretching and heard a loud pop. Apical stem broke clean off so no chance of taping. This is a first time happening and a bit surprised as I wasn’t reefing on it. Root development is going well.

Day 35: MS
Day 28: Ripley
MS was given its third and final weekly application of mosquito bits. BAS Buildabloom has now been added to every watering along with Recharge, silicone and yucca. These ingredients are given at 1/4 of the recommended rate per gallon. Trichomes have yet to form but should start soon.
Ripley is cruising right along doing her best to catch up.

Day 42: MS
Day 35: Ripley
Training for MS is done, now just tucking leaves and adjusting branches for optimum light and airflow. It is 22 inches from the soil to the training dowel and her main top runs 18 inches along the dowel. Trichomes are now forming.
Feeding happens every other day and at this point she is taking 7 pints. One pint of straight water in the drip tray first, then 6 of nutrient solution on top.
On the non feeding day she gets one pint in the drip tray and one on top for a total of 9 pints every 2 days. My reasoning for straight water in the drip tray is to minimize elevated PPM in the bottom of the pot.
Ripley received her third and final Mosquito Bits and BAS BuildABloom is now added to the feedings. Training continues along with leaf tucking.
Cooler fall weather has moved in requiring more wattage to maintain temps between 76 and 80 degrees. The tent is located on the second floor in the spare bedroom. I installed the SF 1000 propped off the floor and have a 4 inch fan cooling the driver. I am currently running it at 80 watts and the top light at 224 watts. This is my first attempt using the dowel to even the canopy and I am pleased with the results. DLI is between 35 and 40 at top of the canopy. Fungus gnats have been held at a reasonable threshold to this point. I placed new sticky traps to monitor their numbers but from here on out nothing is sprayed or given to the plants.

MS: Day 49
Riley: Day 42
MS has started to fade on the top of her canopy so top light is turned down to 194 watts. DLI is now between 26 and 31 at top of canopy. I have had this start to happen in past grows around week 6 with no ill effects other than aesthetic wise. My feeding seems to only sustain the girls at these lower numbers.
Riley has caught up to MS and is trucking along. She is barely fading at the top of her canopy. It shouldn’t progress as far since the DLI is lowered at this earlier growth stage.
Charcoal filter has been connected as the girls are starting to stank. First pic with lights off shows the fade happening to MS, notice how green the lower part of the cola is though. Next three are of MS and the last two are Ripley.

Headed out of town today for 4 nights and had to set up my high tech auto watering system.😁
I’ve been using Blumat bottle adapters for years with good results. I fed the girls last night and this morning poured a bottle of water in each drip tray and one in the center of the pot. Each gets 6 quart bottles of straight water placed next to the edge of the pot.
You can better see the main stem training with them. The tallest branch on Ripley is 35 inches. I haven’t seen the lowest branches stretch like this before I put the dowels in play. Interesting for sure.
Placed Migro UVB 310 and now have it running mid light cycle for 2 hours.

MS: Day 57
Ripley: Day 50
Got back into town yesterday at 1pm when the girls started their dark period. They each drank 5 quarts from the bottles and were needing water. They weren’t into TWP “temporary wilting point” but close. I usually water one hour after lights come on. Because they needed it right then I fed them in the dark cycle. Both got 5.5 Pints, 2 pints in the drip tray and 3.5 on top. Because I missed a feeding while gone they got food in the drip tray as well.
MS has started senescence and I removed a dozen dead large fan leaves. She is smelling very nice.
Ripley is ripping along and putting on resin heavily. She doesn’t have a very strong smell yet.
I forgot to mention last week that I moved one of my fans to the bottom of the canopy so that leaves three above.

I grew a Strawberry Mango Crumble last spring and yesterday I looked over my notes.
She started to fade at day 50 also just like MS. I’m not sure if Mango Smile tends to be a heavy feeder or something else.
The SMC was harvested at day 72 and turned out to be some really nice finished flower albeit lacking in color a bit as can be seen next to Toofless Alien.
Both were amended and fed exactly the same so whatever is happening is definitely strain dependent.
