New Grower 1st hydro grow

I would go ahead and top feed, JT. Sounds like she isn’t established in the reservoir yet. You should also get that water up to around an inch from the bottom of the cup, and the goal is to maintain it there throughout the grow.
im afraid itll keep the rockwool soaked

ok
im afraid itll keep the rockwool soaked
put a gallon in ill measure the water height tomorrow i have it marked on my measuring tape 1 ,2, 3 , 4 gallons and netpot height .....added 1ml of hydroguard alomg with it. tents high was 81 low was 72 current is 75f...water temp is 71f. i top fed her 10ml of water

It shouldn’t be too soaked because you have an inch to the net pot and a few inches from the bottom of the net pot to the rockwool. Hopefully. It’s a consistently a bit moist, though.

day 11
ph was 6.4 took it down to 5.84
rockwool dry on top wet on bottom definately seeing roots but they arent hanging out the bottom yet....sigh shes going to autoflower and be like an inch tall lol. ill top water again ans maybe raise level a bit. measured the water level was 7.5inches from the water to the netpot hole. netpot is 5.5inches long
so i raised the water to 6.4inches....water level is 1inch away from bottom now.my tapwater is .4ec ive got 1/8tsp in bucket bringing total ec to 0.7
i gave her 9mp of water from the top
heres pics .

The plant doesn’t look bad at all for 11 days. I would say it’s in the top 66% growthwise, which isn’t bad considering the roots aren’t hot the water yet. When that happens, it will be like she is on steroids, and will catch up quickly. Keep it up!

@Jtrainor87 what is happening right now is called air pruning. The roots stop growing because they are in air without water. Top watering is a continuous stream of water pumped very near the cube but not on it. I am talking gallons and gallons a day - all day. This forms a water "shower" under the net pot for the roots to follow down into the reservoir. The next way to acomplish nearly the same effect is to raise the water in the reservoir until it is within 1/4 inch of the roots and the bubbles from your aeration will splash water up and drip off the bottom of the net pot making a shower for the roots to follow down into the reservoir. There is a danger of getting the reservoir too full and soaking up into the cube - not desirable. The final method I have seen used is a mister from underneath like in a clone starter.

Don't give up just keep moving forward. Farmers need to be a tough breed.

ill keep pushing ph was 5.8 this morning it was 6.2 dropped back down i have a slight little foam lucky my pondzyme enyzmes come today along with hydroguard.bucket has about 2.75 gallons in it

ph is still 5.9 but the netpot and the res have a slight fiah smell again. ec raised from 0.7 to 0.8/0.9. my pondzyme beneficial algae eater is comkng today i will empty the bucket put a fresh 3 gallons in reset ec to 0.6. then add 5ml of hydroguard 3ml of rapidstart and 1/8tsp of pondzyme. that shoild solve my issue water in res is hitting about 72
ish. ill update tonight around 8 or 9 pm. i do see new root growth and the roots that are even with the netpot are white and have small hairs ready to grow.
i did wrap the juckets in silver tape as i saw the bubble foil i used is mot comepletely lkght blocking in a single layer

i dont want to do a sterile res so i will try hydroguard and pondYme any other algae water stufd i can use.

I didn’t use anything in addition to Hydroguard, so I think you have it covered. Changing the reservoir weekly, even if it doesn’t seem to be needed is a practice I stood by in DWC. Why create a potential problem, I say. I feel good about your prospects, as you certainly pay attention to all the important details. Once you are in the habit of doing that, and learn what adjustments work best for you, theRe is no telling what you will be able to grow in there.
