Missed this up until this point. Tuned in now! Love the new space. We share a lot of the same ideas when it comes to growing. Plants looking great so far. Peace!
I've used the 4" and 6" AC infinity charcoal filters since I started and they work great. I exhaust into my attic and there is a slight smell during heavy flowering with a full tent for a week or two but the rest is pretty much completely covered. I have the tent half full right now and I don't notice much smell until I open the door. It won't get rid of all of the smell but it will dampen most of it. In my case it's a must and they have worked well for me. After about 6 months you can unscrew and swap the end caps on them so it's being sucked the opposite way to get the max use out of it. Had both of mine for about a year of constant growing and I will probably end up replacing them soon so worth the money IMO.Forgot to mention above that I just ordered a charcoal filter from AC infinity and I’m wondering if anyone can vouch for the lack of odor? The smell from the exhaust has never been a problem but rather a pleasure for myself AND my neighbors when it would occasionally get out when I have the shed door open. But man the Sour Crack kids are so wonderfully strong that I smelled em out front on the sidewalk today lol no bueno. My only fear is the breaking and entering to get to the plants which leads to my tools tv etc. The plants are the most replaceable items in the garage! So I figure if it works well for others but not for me then I’ll know it’s not the tool, it’s me doing something wrong.
I was wondering how long they last as they are relatively inexpensive and a little over a year sounds about right for the price. Sounds like it’s gonna do the trick thanks much DankI've used the 4" and 6" AC infinity charcoal filters since I started and they work great. As for orientation, I have the air in the tent sucked through the filter to exhaust.
Great point about the humidifier man, makes perfect sense but I wouldn’t have thought of that. Thank you for solid info DanHey man,
I have that filter or one similar to it, and it seems to do the trick. If you’re running a humidifier in the same tent, be careful. I was running mine with tap water and that seems to have clogged the filter. Haven’t used it in my past couple of grows because of this - so I’m sort of in the market for a new one too. Girlfriend hasn’t complained about the smell in the house though, so I haven’t gotten around to it. And it certainly doesn’t bother me!
If you use an evaporative humidifier and tap water you shouldn't have any issues. The wicks soak up all the minerals. I've ran my setup like that since I got it. But Daniel is right with the sonic ones, that will definitely clog it.Great point about the humidifier man, makes perfect sense but I wouldn’t have thought of that. Thank you for solid info Dan
