The government is sending me some money to stimulate the economy. I have had my eye on a ChillLed grow light for my space for a long time. In fact, they have changed models 3 times since I first tried to fit them in my budget. Growmau5 shared so much free and solid information on the web that I used to build my current COB light system that I promised myself that if I could ever afford it I would buy something from him. I am loyal like that. I pulled the trigger and bought it. I tried again to get them to sponsor me and come onboard but alas I do not have 20,000 followers, a stated criteria. I suppose if you have a good enough product you do not need to give it away. They did say I could sign up for an affiliate account but have not approved me yet?

I am getting two of these:

and a couple of the Blue Logic pucks and one more red initiator puck. So the complete light line-up will be the 2 Growcraft 500w units, two Blue logic pucks running at 67w each, two AgroMax UV Plus 10,000K t5s, one AgroMax Pure UV t5 and two red initiator pucks

I am hoping it will only take a couple of weeks to get the new lights installed. I am going to permanently install the UV lamps above the Growcraft fixtures as it is my understanding that the UV light has enough energy to reach the plants bouncing around in the space off the Orca Grow film to be completely effective. The AgroMax site has most reporting users running them up to 6 feet above the canopy.

I really hope by over allocating the amount of light possible from these fixtures in my space I can run them at a lower wattage and still get the light I want. This will let me run them cooler in the summer.

I hung the 2 AgroMax UVA Plus 10,000K and the AgroMax Pure UV (75% UVB, 25% UVA in the center) permanently. Well sorta, they can still be moved but they are on fixed length chains. The gang box I am going to use for all of the other lights does not fit like I had in mind. Hummmmmmmmmmm punt.

This used to be the spare bedroom at one time. It even had a queen sized bed. Now it is the overflow pantry, kitchen equipment, pizza flour bin, pizza making tools, Scuba Gear including dry suits, wet suits tanks, weights etc. Cook books. Toilet paper, paper towels, etc.............. Until last week there was a full sized elliptical exerciser in there. It had not been used in 3 years. It hurt my back and knees. Thank goodness the neighbor wanted it otherwise it would have gone to the street. I built it in place in the room and it was a son-of-a-bitch to get out of there. When My wife agreed to let me have the 4 x 6 x 8 foot space in the room I quickly built the grow room out so she could not change her mind. Then I commandeered the space for the top-off tank. She was pleased when I got the elliptical out of there. Now what to do with my old lights? Maybe craig's list but I don't like the idea of strangers knowing I grow.

The delivery of the lights was delayed until tomorrow and some of the other parts I need to complete the project will not be here anytime soon. I am going to scab the lights in until my parts arrive so the room does not stay empty much longer. I did make some progress though.

Here is a logical electrical lay out for the new light system and control center.

The selector switch will allow me to run the Royal Blue Cobs, 720nm Initiator Pucks, UVA and/or UVB on the same time clock. So I start the grow with the Royal Blue on through out Veg then turn on the Far Red for the first week of flip/flower, then the UVA Plus until the last 2 weeks when I will run the UVA Plus and Pure UVB.
