Bad News...

Bad news Buds... The BuKu 1 is a boy or went Hermi on me... It's got balls... :no:

This shocks me because it was the greener one out of the two and wasn't showing any damage like the BuKu 2 is...

So, If the BuKu 2 stays female I'll be shocked... I think I'm just going to focus on Autos for now after this is over... This is entirely too frustrating and was a huge disappointment. Not in the plant but myself... I'm sure it's my fault for sure... I'm not discouraged so I'm not in the "woe is me" stage. I'm just aggrevated I had them doing so good and then this happens...

Well, it happens to the best of us... Would it be useless to keep it for pollen? If I used it on an Auto Strain would it make Auto beans? I don't see any pistils... Upon some serious magnification I noticed that there isn't any pistils... What I thought was pistils was just new growth that was white and thin making it appear like a pistil with the normal eye... So I think it just went male...

Anyway I'm sure you guys will let me know if he's worth keeping for pollen... Sorry to disappoint you guys... No one is more disappointed then I -- trust me on that one... gonna go Assassinate my self to sleep and worry about it later... At least I can still grow Autos... I give myself 4 thumbs down!! Let's just hope BuKu 2 stays a lady...

hang in there mate - I hope number 2 stays fem for you! Does seem strange that the healthier one would hermie - Im wondering if perhaps the fem trait wasn't totally nailed down by the breeder?

Its all about learning and one thing Im learning is its worth dropping double the amount of seeds ya expect to finish with - in my case I might be safer dropping triple!!

Hey bro,like others have said don't be so hard on yourself,it's one of those things and u know you got nuff beans to start a new growing adventure also those seeds were free,I also have some and I'm guessing free seeds ain't the best quality so it could be that mate..and you still got one going so I'll send good grow vibes and bitch slap that tranny plant for ya bro lol

Hey Glaucoma! Good to see ya Mate! Yeah I don't know what happened. Could be a number of things but I'm not stressing about it right now. Like Coop said... I've got plenty of beans and have a few Auto grows under my belt so I at least I got them to grow.

Hey Coop! Thanks very much Mate! LOL That's the thing, I'm not sure he's a tranny... I don't see any female parts that's why I'm starting to doubt it was a fem bean. Granted my hiccups didn't help at all but I don't know about that. I got a bunch of Autos coming so I just hope this BuKu stays fem. I was using these to try a stab at a Photo run again. Like you said they were free so that's why I ran em. Honestly, I like the "stress free" on the Grower without having to worry about light leakage and power going off for an hour... It's alot nicer knowing autos aren't photosentitive!

I'm still going to try to do my best with BuKu 2 and see if I can get some nuggs out of this!!


So you think I should chop him or try to get some pollen?? Since I don't see any pistils... I haven't done anything to him yet. I put him to bed with Buku 2 today so I'm waiting to see what you all think I should do with him...

If it's a male and you have space to keep him I'd keep going mate,it's a good plant,strong grower so I'd say there's some good pollen to be had,you could be the first to try a buku auto mate or if your other is a fem dust a few branches to get yourself some beans I'll keep watching mate I'm sure things will come good for you

Hey Coop! Yeah I don't see any pistils at all on him. However, me not knowing my next move with him didn't put him to bed because I thought I was going to chop him. So, he didn't get put to bed.. Will this mess him up?

I have a secure cabinet that I can seal him up in when my vents aren't blowing air on the other side of the house... Would that be a good place to keep him? When should I expect his pollen sacks to open? I'd like to try my hand at maybe crossing him with an Assassin... Would that make an Auto? How would I do that? Pick a great AA Mom? Then use his pollen on her? I think I'd rather try my hand at making an Auto Burmese Assassin! That sounds good to me!! Could I just pollinate a branch or two on the other Buku Female just to have some of those beans? I don't want to pollinate the whole thing. I do want some seedless BuKu so I'm assuming I could do just a few branches?? Thanks Coop! I would really really LOVE to try this cross!

So, here's an update. Pictures tomorrow... The male ended up popping pistils so it's a hermie... I haven't killed him yet and still deciding whether it's worth it to take his pollen...

The BuKu 2 female is still female (last time I checked before putting her to sleep) but her fan leaves frankly look like shite... I know the damaged ones can't recover but dang... However, she's budding really well, I even am seeing some trichs developing. So I'll update pictures tomorrow. Sorry this thread started out exciting and turned crappy... Hopefully I'll have some good bud shots for you all to see soon...
