Hi CC ... I did see your infirmary post and thought that since you were being helped by more knowledgeable growers than myself I'd just read along and learn ... for having been away I thought they looked pretty good ...

I believe that my Calcium problem is solved but this late in the grow I don't think the plants will replace the damaged leaves so they ain't pretty ... I've got some shots of the SMRs I'll be putting up later.

WOS ... Afghan Kush Ryder ...

Planted the seeds for my January grow yesterday. Three WOS AKRs ... there will be a little overlap w/ my current grow so things could get interesting. I used a 3 gal nursery pot w/ a 3 gal airpot bottom suspended 1cm above the bottom for superior drainage ... I expect this to be my best grow ever now that Guerrilla has schooled me in Cal/Mag deficiencies (thank you very much) ... I've heard both 60 days and 120 days from seed ... I have no experience w/ this strain and would like to ask a couple questions ....

If you've grown AKRs ...

1. How tall did they get ?

2. Time from Sprouting to Harvest ?

3. Any nutrient issues I should be aware of ?

I planted 3 seeds expecting to have 3 plants similar to my current grow ... if they are fast or normally stay small I still have time to plant a 4th seed if need be to fill my grow ... My grow space is 2'x5'x7' .... Probably start a journal for the AKRs in a couple weeks.

Chester: What's up man?? Hope the holidays were good to you!! Just getting back to a normal computer and your Mango is looking awesome!!!!


I grew my AKR and was a little disappointed with its size and growth, partly because I think I must've messed up along the way.. Mine only grew about 1ft tall and came out spindly.. I didn't need to LST/Bend it at all as it came out with about a dozen colas that were nearly all the same height.. I also had what seems to be a relatively rare pheno that came out purple.. I think about 90% of the journals I read about AKR, the plants from seed-to-harvest were 65-75 days.. Mine went 100-ish days, and I decided it was time.. I think if I had a little more light on her, maybe she would have done better, but I also had to leave her for almost 4 days without water; in a hydro set-up, that can pretty much spell disaster..

However.....


The tiny amount of bud I did get, has been some of the best I've grown yet!! Taste is awesome, smoke is smooth and the smell is daaaaaank!!

Week 9 ...

Began the cleanse on the smaller Mango Ryder and positioned it where it would receive the maximum light available ... will water/cleanse again in 6 days ... the larger SMR and the Jock Horror can only go 3 days between watering. They are stacking up the buds and I believe they will be ready around the end of January ... I think the smaller SMR will get harvested mid January. The three AKRs have not sprouted yet but I'm sure I'll see them on my next visit. Here's some trich pics from the smaller SMR ... the visible amber is why I started the cleanse today instead of waiting another week ...
