Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Thanks buddy! 4th round of planting and just now have a tray of rootmaker starter pots coming (reg square ones)! I know u said sometimes can be a pain getting plants out so any tips? Was thinking of slicing down 2 sides m using a reusable zip tie to seal it til time to transplant! Then opening zip tie opens the sides to lift it out but let me know if that’s an unnecessary step! Also in my 2 gal rain science bags would u recommend not worrying about adding worms cuz so small of a pot? They are like woven mesh but sure u know what they r already! May run testers in tent 2 in those and go original plan and do 2 diff rocbudinc in the ebj’s?!? Not sure as of this min but did finally get all the stuff to start em right! Got heat mat with thermostat/ seedling tray n dome and has height extension to like 10.5” tall, and got some good dynomyco I can sprinkle into seedling soil and transplant holes! Plus those rootmakers and also btottle of castile soap to try since goblin has nice results n was only $9! Experimenting next run gonna be interesting for sure!

i jjust snip down the corners with a pair of tin snips and then just peel away the four sides, no issues thus far .... pre slice could work as well .... perhaps you won’t have issues but I sure did the first couple I tried and those were tomatoes - I used rootmakers on vegetables first ...... yes I would forgo worms in a small container for sure .... Good luck with newest grow, we learn as we grow that’s for sure!

Been really busy with buddy and his new house, we did almost complete restore .... still moving stuff from my shop to his new house ....

I like the light slow ...... pricey but a beautiful build, solid - excited to use on vegetable starts here soon when I flip to vegetable and flower starts for the summer- I don’t grow inside in the summer ....

SL is almost done at 70 days and WC is around 67 days or so .....

SL is doing fine but WC has some sort of PH issue but she is going to finish with some nice frosty buds ...... Peace MOB

SL in new tent with 150 watt HPS - old school light to finish up grow - two plants in an OVERSIZED 2x4 tent was one too many

White Crack ran into an issue but she will finish - Super sticky

Hey @MrOldBoy, I see the WC and it could be a pH issue. However, I was smart enough to run numerous plants with MINIMAL or NO Top Dressings at all. For example, I ran some clones and put 2 clones in each Junior. They are photo plants obviously, so I wanted to do a baseline run without top dresssing at all to see how they react as clones in the same container. Looking at your WC I see the same yellowing as on my clone run. Whole plant yellowing can be a sign of HUNGER vs pH issue. pH issues can often create deficiency symptoms, where your WC looks yellow overall. I know that you have top dressed, not sure how often or when. If you did everything the same as the SL, the pH should be similar on both plants. Did you TOP water at all? I could see Top watering causing a pH imbalance if you soak it too much. Hard to say at this point, but it could be general hunger or pH issue. You only have a week left, take her at about 75 days. Dont try to seek amber, she is too yellow to drag on. Personally I would put her in the dark for the last 3 days to avoid more yellowing. Turn down your light if you can for the next few days, once they yellow fast you want to avoid extreme light intensity. Peace, slow

You dont have to slice them, and the Rootmakers are totally reusable. You just push on each side gently before transplanting to loosen up the soil. You will see it pull away from the sides. Turn the Rootmaker upside down and plopp seedling out like building a Sand Castle. It works 100% of the time. What is more important is when you transplant. Shoot for 10-12 days. Dont go beyond 14 days in Rootmakers. Your plants will get hungry and you want to avoid that, it slows them down. Peacex slow

They do not come out 100% of the time FOR ME, so I slice the sides and feed them 1/4 strength fish fertilizer around day 8 and they will are just fine As you don’t want to take them too early - you want a nice good rooting structure to grow.

This one was taken too early ....

Well have you tried to push on the sides back and forth as I suggest? I have used 2 different kinds of Starter mix in Rootmakers and all of the seedlings came out perfectly fine for me. If you dont push on the sides back and forth to loosen up the soil you will have a much harder time removing. Also, I have had only 1 that was boarderline too early on the transplant. It was day 9, and looked ready on top. But the root system was not as large as I prefer, however I overwatered 1 x and that is all it takes to make the roots thinner due to excessive moisture. I have also had 1 seedling that was taken too long, I put some Kis Soil in the bottom hoping it woukd feed the seedling. That didnt help the hunger at day 14, and the roots were huge. That is why I suggest dsy 10-12. You want to have the root system developed, but you dont wsnt the seedling to get hungry. You can feed like you suggest, but if you transplant in that 3 day window they dont need anything in my experience. I am curious to see how the directly planted plants and root system do vs Rootmakers in the Juniors. So far the directly planted plants are larger and fsster growing. If they yield more and finish faster it is a no brainer what to do. But it is always possible that the Rootmakers could catch up or yield more. Only time aill tell and I have done multiple strains both ways to compare. Peace, slow

I'm looking forward to the outcome of directly planted vs rootmakers although I do have my suspison that nature always wins and the direct plant will be the better method

I agree, but only time will tell. I prefer the Directly planted, and so far they are growing faster and larger. I want to see how the yield and root system is on both methods. So far the speed of growth with the Directly planted in Veg is clearly superior on every plant I have done directly in Juniors. With Autos the goal is to avoid any type of slow down at all. Peace slow

Thanks for the pointers n sure I’ll have better luck than with the solo cups! Question bout my worms when I looked in there tonight saw several lil bugs that were teeny tiny and looked like spider almost! Are those gonna be mites in my worm bin?? If so how’s best way to get rid of them or am I gonna have to buy some attack beetles to eat em up before I try to take worms out and put into my ebj’s only to have em get worse so wanna kill em now!! Can try and get a pic but prob can’t see cuz so tiny! Also I was looking at a 2nd 2x4 tent cuz no one seems to have a spare they can help me out with so I think I’m gonna grab the 4x4 gorilla that he’s done with from same place I got mine! Like new for it too and said he’d take $200 for it! Def good deal even if it’s missing floor tray too! Thanks for the advice on best way to get rid of damn bugs cuz I drilled holes into Tupperware and then gorilla taped window screen over those holes n lil creatures still found their way in!
Oh also any clue why sometimes I open the bin and will be several worms that have scaled the inside walls of the tote they r in?? They just climb to the top n then post up and chill so kinda strange!

Oh almost forgot MoB but what kind of controller is that for your temp / rh thing u use?? I was looking for controller if I get bigger tent so was just curious cuz I can’t remember and ones I was looking at were crazy expensive for my budget!

Yes slow I’ve tried, I’m very familiar with transplanting lots of different kinds of plants out of different types of pots ..... I totally understand how to pop a plant out and types of starting mixes - I’ve probably transplanted over 500 plants and at least 2 dozen trees since 1978 ..... Can you post a pic of your root system when you take out of pot?
